ESPN details which direction the Denver Broncos are expected to go with their first selection in the 2026 NFL Draft
Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos don’t currently have a first-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft after trading the No. 30 overall pick to the Miami Dolphins in the deal for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Unless there’s a trade, and that’s always possible, the Denver Broncos won’t make their first selection in the 2026 NFL Draft until day two.
The Broncos traded the No. 30 overall pick to the Miami Dolphins last month in the deal for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Denver’s first selection in the draft is No. 62 overall.

ESPN’s Matt Miller reported on Thursday that he’s hearing offensive tackle could be in play for the Broncos at No. 62 overall.
“With only one pick inside the top 100, the Broncos must be strategic about how they’ll fill needs in this draft,” noted Miller. “One position I’ve heard could be in play at No. 62 is offensive tackle, where Garett Bolles will turn 34 years old and Mike McGlinchey is 31.”
Northwestern offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan, Florida offensive tackle Austin Barber, and Iowa offensive tackle/guard Gennings Dunker are a couple of options that could make sense for Denver.
Tight end is another position that draft analysts believe could be in play for the Broncos in the second round.
Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers would be a dream fit for Sean Payton and the Broncos, but he’s unlikely to fall to the No. 62 overall pick.
Denver will likely need to trade up if they want to have a shot at landing Stowers, who recently visited the Broncos.
