For the last 11 years, I've been covering the Detroit Lions. Before that, I was just a Lions fan who was maybe a little too obsessed with the team. I can tell you firsthand that there is nothing like being at Ford Field on a Sunday when this team is winning.

It is just electric in every way possible. I'll never forget being in the building as a fan the day that Calvin Johnson put up 329 yards on the Cowboys and Matthew Stafford won the game on a last-second fake snap. I'll never forget sitting in the press box during the Lions' win over the Rams in the 2023 playoffs and trying my best not to be emotional. I'll never forget sitting in the crowd at Wrestlemania 23.

Ford Field is an awesome place, and that's why it's cool that in a world where stadiums like Heinz Field become Acrisure Stadium or Cleveland Browns Stadium become FirstEnergy Stadium, it's cool that you don't have to worry about that as a Lions fan because Ford Field is not changing.

The Lions and Ford Motor Company announced on Friday that they will extend the naming rights for the stadium until the 2036 season.

It might feel like it's not a big deal, but like we said, you'll never have to tell your kids you're going to Ford Field and they'll look at you with a weird look and say "don't you mean Jello Pudding Pops Stadium?" That's a win right there.
