7 mock trade offers for Kenny Moore II: Colts land an extra pick in the 2026 NFL Draft by moving on from the Pro Bowl corner
The Indianapolis Colts and Kenny Moore II are seeking a trade to find the cornerback a new home in the NFL. Here are 7 possible offers they could land for the former Pro Bowl corner.
It was reported Friday that the Indianapolis Colts and cornerback Kenny Moore II have mutually agreed to seek a trade. The nine-year Colts corner has meant so much to the franchise and the city of Indianapolis, which makes this a tough pill to swallow for some fans.
The Colts are opening the door for second-year corner Justin Walley to start in Moore II’s spot. They are also giving Moore the chance to get a head start on finding his new NFL home with his current deal set to expire after the 2026 season. I spoke to multiple coworkers here at A to Z Sports and received seven different offers for the Colts corner. Let’s hear them out and pick the best deal for the Colts to accept.

Vikings try to reunite Kenny Moore II and Isaiah Rodgers in their CB room
“It’s a really interesting trade discussion. Moore has been one of the better slot cornerbacks for the past decade, but is now on the wrong side of 30 and has a sizable contract.
The Vikings would have to absorb $10 million on the salary cap, which is an issue as things currently sit. Even so, the Vikings could use another talented cornerback in the room, with Byron Murphy Jr. being the only constant. The pricetag isn’t necessarily equal to how well Moore is still playing, but the contract, paired with the age and slot only limitations, dwindle it down a bit.” – Tyler Forness, A to Z Sports Minnesota

Jets make a play for Kenny Moore II after sending Indy Sauce Gardner last season
“The New York Jets need veteran leadership and talent in the secondary, and Kenny Moore II would be perfect for Aaron Glenn. The Jets have nine picks to work with after trading Sauce Gardner to the Colts last season, and they’re going to offer picks No. 140 and No. 228 overall to Indy.
Moore is turning 31 and is in the last year of his deal, but he’s still playing at a solid level. This is a reasonable deal for a player that fits what the Jets are looking for, and they’d very likely draft a CB anyway. The Jets still have plenty of ammo in the draft to make key additions, and Moore brings a lot of value at the nickel position.” – Josh Taylor, A to Z Sports NFL analyst

Jets send: Picks 140 (fourth-round) and 228 (seventh-round)

Buccaneers try to buy low on Kenny Moore II to upgrade their secondary
“It might not be a glaring need with nickel corner Jacob Parrish having a solid rookie season in 2025, but Kenny Moore II, even at 30, is going to make most defenses better in the middle of the field. After last year’s collapse and losing a painfully winnable division, Todd Bowles is in desperate win-now mode – or should be – and upgrading the Bucs’ terrible pass defense should be a priority by any means available to GM Jason Licht.
Adding Moore could push Parrish, who is capable of playing inside and out next year, into a competition with Benjamin Morrison to replace the loss of Jamel Dean in free agency. As the Bucs have added no one of true quality there in free agency at this point, it would be between the two of them, absent a premium draft pick spent later this month.
Moore has just one year left on his contract, and he’ll be 31 when he starts the season, so this is a short-term rental. His cap hit would also wipe out most of the team’s remaining effective cap space. Thus, it’s hard to part with more than a seventh-rounder here, but I’ll very slightly sweeten the pot with a small fifth-round pick swap.” – Craig Smith, A to Z Sports NFL analyst

Buccaneers send: Picks 155 (fifth round) and 229 (seventh round)

Panthers make a big push to add Kenny Moore II to add on to an impressive defensive overhaul in free agency
“The Carolina Panthers were sniffing around the nickel market in free agency to find an upgrade over Chau Smith-Wade, but never managed to land one. Ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Panthers held a 30-visit with Arizona defensive back Treydan Stukes, who would be the perfect fit. However, the latest intel revealed Stukes might be a fringe first-round talent or at least an early second-round pick, which would be out of Carolina’s range.
The ideal alternative just popped up for the Panthers in Kenny Moore II. Even though he’s 30 years old, Moore is arguably the most productive nickel defender in the league. The asking price for him will be lower due to his age and position compared to a true outside CB. If Carolina finds a way to land Moore while retaining their first two selections in the draft to add a top weapon around QB Bryce Young and another top LB like Jacob Rodriguez, this would be an absolute steal.” – Kole Noble, A to Z Sports NFL analyst

Bills make an offer that would allow the Colts to send Kenny Moore II to a top AFC contender
“The Buffalo Bills could use some help at cornerback. Specifically, depth at the position. Buffalo already has two incredible cornerbacks in Maxwell Hairston and Christian Benford, but they are one bad injury away from the team needing to bring in some outside reinforcements. Why not look for a trade before the NFL Draft to fix that position of need and not have to worry about taking a cornerback even relatively high in the upcoming draft?
In this scenario, we have Buffalo shipping off a sixth-round pick (Pick No. 182) in exchange for Pro Bowl cornerback Kenny Moore. After nine seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, he’s looking for a new team. Moore was long considered to be one of the best slot corners in the game, starting 111 games during his time with the Colts, and the Buffalo Bills could absolutely use his services. That room became ever more crowded with the addition of Sauce Gardner, and not to be hyperbolic, but there are just too many cooks in the kitchen in Indianapolis.
Buffalo sends over a late-round draft pick, and Indy gets to give one of their better players a chance to go out and win a ring with another organization. Again, this would be purely a depth move, but Moore could help make that entire room better if he were to join Buffalo. In nine seasons with the Colts, he’s played in 132 games with 111 games started, 21 interceptions, four of which he returned for touchdowns, 68 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, 11.5 sacks, and 649 combined tackles.” – Adam Zientek, A to Z Sports Buffalo

Steelers try to make Kenny Moore II the final piece to the puzzle that is their CB room
“The Steelers have retooled their secondary in the offseason at 2 or the 3 major spots. They signed Jaquan Brisker at safety to pair alongside Jalen Ramsey and DeShon Elliott. They went out and got one of the top free agent corners to pair alongside Joey Porter Jr. via Jamel Dean.
But what about the slot corner position? Insert Kenny Moore, and suddenly, the Steelers secondary looks the best it has in years. I understand he’s aging, but he’s long been one of, if not the best, slot corners in the league. The Steelers would have a secondary built on speed and physicality on the outside, with instincts and ball skills at nickel and safety. Acquiring Moore would give Pittsburgh a good mix of veterans and young players that would mesh well with the rest of the roster.” Rob Gregson, A to Z Sports Pittsburgh

Saints look at Kenny Moore II as the perfect veteran to pair with their young CB duo
“This sort of deal makes plenty of sense for the Saints when you consider their youth and free agency moves. Quincy Riley and Kool-Aid McKinstry are both projected starters, and neither are particularly experienced in comparison to plenty of starters at CB around the league. In the slot where Moore resides, Alontae Taylor departed New Orleans to join the Tennessee Titans during free agency.
That left a notable hole at the STAR position for Brandon Staley, and Moore has the ability and experience to fill that gap if necessary. Also, Moore could act as a buffer in the slot to teach a rookie CB the best ways to succeed at the position before handing over the reins heading into 2027. For both sides, this trade brings value and solves a problem that can help them going forward.” – Adam Holt, A to Z Sports NFL analyst

Saints send: Pick 172 (fifth-round)
Colts send: Kenny Moore II
Winner of the Kenny Moore II trade sweepstakes: Carolina Panthers
If I had to guess the top destinations out of this list that Moore II would prefer, they would be Buffalo, Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Minnesota. Ultimately, though, the two best deals in this exercise clearly come from the Panthers and the Jets.
Both send a fourth-round pick to the Colts, which in itself would be solid value if you ask me. The Panthers are also handing the Colts a fifth-round pick, though, while the Jets only attached a seventh. So I will be accepting the Panthers’ offer and sending Moore to Carolina, where he once had two pick-sixes in a single game against the Panthers.
