Undrafted Colts rookie that is flying under the radar but has a real shot to steal a roster spot at a position that lacks depth

The Indianapolis Colts are going to have a competitive training camp this summer with multiple roster spots and starting jobs seeming to be up for grabs.
It will be a tough year for an undrafted free agent to earn a spot. However, one UDFA has a really solid opportunity due to the lack of depth on the Colts roster at his position.
Colts UDFA Trey Washington has a real chance to earn a roster spot

One of the Colts signed UDFA's this year is Ole Miss safety Trey Washington. He was a four-year starter at Ole Miss, and even more impressive is the fact that he never missed a game, playing in all 52 during his college career. He recorded 201 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, 14 pass deflections, and five interceptions during his career.
The best season of his college career came in 2023, when he set his career highs with 83 total tackles and three interceptions. If he had elected to forgo his senior year and go pro after that type of season in the SEC, I have a hard time seeing him go undrafted. His numbers regressed a bit during his senior season, and he ultimately fell out of the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
He has experience playing both safety spots, which will make him a valuable player to watch in training camp. The Colts' starting safeties seem pretty locked up in Cam Bynum and Nick Cross. After that, though, I don't think there's a single safety on their roster that should feel that their roster spot is safe. Washington will be able to compete to be a depth piece at FS and SS with players like Daniel Scott and Rodney Thomas II. Don't just take my word for it, though. Washington also has the attention of Pro Football Focus. They included him as a UDFA to watch earlier this offseason.
"Although the Colts are thin at linebacker, undrafted free agent Solomon DeShields played more than 300 snaps in only one of his four college seasons and might have a tough road to snaps in the NFL.
Instead, we’ll highlight Washington, whose 90.2 PFF tackling grade and 87.2 PFF run-defense grade in 2024 both ranked in the top 15 among FBS safeties. Indianapolis lacks proven depth behind Nick Crossand Cam Bynum, opening the door for Washington to earn a role."
