Jaguars schedule release: Game-by-game predictions as Jacksonville looks to prove they’re a new factor in the AFC
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ path to repeat as AFC South champions has been laid out, so let’s take a swing at how it might go for them.
Finally, the NFL released the schedules for all 32 teams, and fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars now know exactly, who, when, and where they will face all 17 opponents on their 2026 slate.
The Jaguars have gone from the hunter to the hunted in the AFC South after going 13-4 and winning the division crown last season.
Can they build upon that and take that next step towards an elusive Super Bowl appearance? Here’s a way-too-early prediction at how the regular season could play out.
Jacksonville Jaguars Game-by-Game predictions
Week 1 vs. Cleveland Browns
Jags win. Jacksonville will get the Browns in what should be a scalding-hot afternoon at EverBank Stadium to open the season. It may take a while for the Browns’ new-look offense to get its sea legs, particularly with some rookie playmakers, and the Jags take advantage.
Record: 1-0
Week 2 at Denver Broncos
Jags lose. It’s the AFC Championship Game that could have been, if only Jacksonville found a way to get one more stop against the Bills at home. But unlike the fortutious New England Patriots, the Jags should be getting the Broncos with Bo Nix back under center, and he leads Denver to a close win.
Record: 1-1
Week 3 vs. New England Patriots
Jags win. Even after a strong record last season, I’m not still totally sure I know who the New England Patriots are as far as a real title contender. They were exposed when they played Seattle in the Super Bowl, and if you look back at their 2025 regular season, the number of wins they had over teams with losing records is staggering. In any event, Jacksonville gets it done at home.
Record: 2-1
Week 4: at Cincinnati Bengals
Jags win. It’s a game that really could go either way, and as long as the Bengals have Joe Burrow upright, they’re in every game. But here, I think the Jaguars’ pass rush is able to take advantage of a Cincinnati line that still feels vulnerable, and they get out of town with a tight win.
Record: 3-1
Week 5: vs. Philadelphia Eagles (London)
Jags lose. The Jaguars get the first of their back-to-back games in London going strongly, controlling the early stages. But Philadelphia rallies in the fourth quarter to deliver a late loss to the Jaguars and keeps them from sitting at the top of the AFC, for now.
Record: 3-2
Week 6: at Houston Texans (London)
Jags win. Jacksonville, for the second time in three years, is the beneficiary of playing two straight games in London and being acclimated to the time change for the second game. The Texans’ defense wreaks havoc on the Jaguars’ offense for the majority of the game, but Jacksonville’s defense keeps CJ Stroud from doing much of anything. The Jags escape with a late field goal in a slog of a contest.
Record: 4-2
Week 7: Bye Week
Week 8: vs. Indianapolis Colts
Jags win. It’s the Jaguars at home against the Colts. I don’t have to get into too much detail for this one, do I? All levity — and recent history at home against Indy — aside, the Colts just don’t scare me, even with Daniel Jones potentially back for the start of the season.
Record: 5-2
Week 9: at Baltimore Ravens
Jags lose. A tough place to play and a tough team to face. The Jaguars’ defense can’t contain Lamar Jackson, and the Ravens grind down Jacksonville in a methodical win.
Record: 5-3
Week 10: at Tennessee Titans
Jags win. Until the Titans prove that their potential starts turning into production, I will take Jacksonville all day against their rivals to the north.
Record: 6-3
Week 11: at New York Giants
Jags win. One week after facing Jackson, things won’t be quite as tricky for the Jaguars’ defense. Jacksonville doesn’t blow out the G-Men here, but they win by a touchdown against a Giants team that’s still reliant on too many young and developing players.
Record: 7-3
Week 12: vs. Tennessee Titans
Jags win. At home, I don’t see anything different here than in Week 10.
Record: 8-3
Week 13: at Chicago Bears
Jags lose. We’re into December now, and on a cold afternoon in the Windy City against a high-octane Bears offense, it doesn’t feel like a great situation for Jacksonville to find themselves in.
Record: 8-4
Week 14: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (MNF)
Jags win. The Steelers are a bit of an enigma. They win enough games to make the playoffs, but you marvel at how such a broken, disjointed offense can muster up enough points to do it. In primetime, the Jaguars will a relatively ugly game, something like 20-13, to bounce back before a Lone Star State road trip.
Record: 9-4
Week 15: at Houston Texans
Jags lose. The Texans enact a bit of revenge, with their vicious defensive front shutting down the Jags’ offense. This has a 20-10 feel about it.
Record: 9-5
Week 16: at Dallas Cowboys
Jags lose. I know. Hear me out. Dallas is a tough team to figure out. But if Dak Prescott is healthy, and Caleb Downs can start to be the answer on the back end quickly, this Dallas team could be tough to deal with. At home, the Cowboys send the Jags to their only back-to-back losses on the season.
Record: 9-6
Week 17: vs. Washington Commanders
Jags win. Jayden Daniels is certainly one of the best quarterbacks in the NFC, but by this point, the Commanders likely won’t have much left to play for after another brutal season. Jacksonville gives up their share on the field and scoreboard to Daniels, but the offense carries the load to deliver a double-digit win at home.
Record: 10-6
Week 18: at Indianapolis Colts
Jags win. Week 18 games are always hard to predict because you don’t know who will be in contention, resting their starters, etc. Here, for the sake of argument, I’ll say that the Jags still have something to play for, and they get the season sweep of the Colts with a dominant defensive effort to end another disappointing season for their AFC South rival.
Record: 11-6
