The Kansas City Chiefs continue to get reinforcements with injured players returning to practice.

Ahead of Week 15's game against the Cleveland Browns, Chiefs HC Andy Reid confirmed that one player is slated to return to practice after a stint on injured reserve. It's just probably not the player that everyone was hoping to see.

Reid confirmed that starting K Harrison Butker will be designated to return to practice this week. He wasn't yet ready to confirm that he'd be ready to return to the lineup for the trip to Cleveland on Sunday.

"We're going to see how he does here," Reid said. "He'll get few snaps [in practice]."

Butker has been on IR since Week 11 after suffering a meniscus injury. He has missed games against the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. In his absence, the team has relied on K Spencer Shrader and K Matthew Wright, who just won AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his performance in Week 14 against the Chargers.

Chiefs WR Hollywood Brown won't yet practice

Despite a recent report that Brown would practice this week, Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters that he was not yet ready to return to practice.

"Yeah, man, he's getting close," Reid said of Brown. "He's champing at the bit to get back out there, but he's got to visit with the doctors and make sure that he gets clearance there. And so, I think I'd probably say he's getting close. I can't give you a date, I don't know a date on it, but he says he feels great."

Brown has been on injured reserve since just prior to Week 1 of the regular season after suffering a sternoclavicular joint injury on the first offensive snap against the Jacksonville Jaguars in preseason Week 1. The injury did not heal properly requiring surgery and a much longer recovery timeline than what the team previously saw with Tyreek Hill.

It's clear that he's making progress and nearing his return, but it sounds as if that won't happen in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. Keep in mind that there are just four games left in the regular season, and any significant delay in his designation to return to practice could keep him out until the postseason.
