The Kansas City Chiefs have been dealing with the one thing they and Chiefs fans didn't want to deal with, ever really.

Patrick Mahomes sprained his ankle on a nasty play against the Jaguars in the Divisional Round. It was very nasty looking and we weren't sure he would play again this season if it was bad enough.

But, even on one leg he played against the Bengals and beat Burrow, only further proving he is the MVP.

After the game, after being beaten up a bit and having to run a few times, you could tell Mahomes was hurting a bit.

On Thursday during a media availability, head coach Andy Reid gave up an important update on how Mahomes is feeling four days after the AFC Championship game.

"He's fine," Reid told reporters. "He's a little stiff."

After we got to hear from the man himself about the injury. The guy everyone has been wanting to hear from gave some encouraging news.

"I don't think so, I was just generally sore. It was a physical game," Mahomes said Thursday. "My whole body was sore. I don't think I had any steps backward or stuff like that, no re-aggravation of the ankle. I had a general pain but other than that I feel like I'm in a good spot."

This is great news really, the news we all wanted to hear. Now, he has a whole other week to heal and get ready.
