The Kansas City Chiefs have been without their top free agent acquisition during the first 11 weeks of the 2024 season.

Hollywood Brown joined the Chiefs squad this offseason, but has been on injured reserve because his sternoclavicular joint injury didn't heal properly and required surgery.

The initial belief was that Brown could potentially return by the post season.

But the wide receiver's latest cryptic social media post has people thinking it could be a lot sooner.

Brown posted the clock emoji on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday afternoon.

This goes with what head coach Andy Reid said about him back in October.

"Yeah, he's doing great," Reid explained. "That I can tell you, he's doing great.(He) seems to be on schedule, or a little bit ahead of schedule. So I can't tell you (if he'll be back this year). I mean, I don't know that. It's going to be a while, though. But he's, he's a relentless worker, I can tell you that much, and I can tell you he's doing very well for what he's got there."

Despite not being out on the field with his team, Brown has been very actively involved, especially on social media. He posts regularly, whether it's during games or in reaction to good news about his teammates.

And with that, he's made it clear that he can't wait to get back on the football field.

A to Z Sports' Charles Goldman provided some insight into how Brown can help the offense when he's ready to return.

"Brown can play X, Z, and Zebra (slot) in the Chiefs' offense, but was expected to be used in a field-stretching role like the one currently occupied by rookie WR Xavier Worthy. Adding Brown to the mix for the playoffs could help the offense reach new heights, or at least the heights that were in part expected ahead of Brown's injury. Consider that he'll also be reunited with new Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins, who he played with on the Arizona Cardinals in 2022," Goldman wrote.

So maybe we'll see Brown out there sooner rather than later.
