Maxx Crosby pretty much just shut down any other belief anyone had of the Las Vegas Raiders trading him

Maxx Crosby and the Las Vegas Raiders seem to be on the same page heading into the 2025 season, and the star edge rusher’s latest move may have silenced the trade speculation for good.

Crosby recently went on stream and sang a song he wrote about the Raiders, a move that screams commitment to the Silver and Black. For a fan base that spent the offseason wondering whether their best defensive player would suit up elsewhere, this felt like a definitive answer.

The failed trade and what came after

The context here matters. This offseason, Crosby requested a trade quietly because he didn’t want to upset the fan base. The Raiders reportedly had a deal lined up to send him to the Baltimore Ravens for two first-round picks.

Crosby even traveled to Baltimore for a physical, which he reportedly did not pass, with the Ravens expressing concern about his long-term durability coming off knee issues.

That failed trade became fuel for Crosby. Since then, he has thrown himself into his rehab and preparation for the upcoming season. He showed up at Sack Summit looking close to full strength, even beating Jared Verse off the line in a drill — and Verse is fully healthy.

Even after the Baltimore deal fell through and Las Vegas pulled him off the trade block, rumors persisted. Teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, and Detroit Lions were mentioned as potential suitors. The Raiders held firm and showed no interest in moving him.

The production speaks for itself

When you look at what Crosby has done while dealing with injuries, the numbers are hard to argue with. He played only 15 games last season and still posted 10 sacks to go along with a career-high 28 tackles for loss.

The year before, he was limited to 12 games and still managed 7.5 sacks. A healthy Crosby, motivated by a trade rejection and playing for a defense that needs him, could be one of the most productive pass rushers in the NFL.

Crosby is a Raider, period

The song itself is the cherry on top. Crosby has been leaning into the music side of things during his rehab, releasing a few tracks that the fan base has embraced. But writing an anthem specifically about the Raiders goes beyond a hobby. It’s a public declaration.

Why would a player write a team anthem if he wanted out? He wouldn’t. Crosby has the Raiders tattooed on his body, and everything he has done this offseason points to a player who is locked in on Las Vegas. Maxx Crosby is a Raider, and all signs suggest he will be one for life.
