The Miami Dolphins have strong ties to the newest free agent wide receiver in the NFL
If the Miami Dolphins are interested in any further competition at wide receiver, there’s a new wide receiver who could make plenty of sense.
The overhaul of the Miami Dolphins‘ wide receiver room is well underway. Tyreek Hill? A free agent. Jaylen Waddle? A Denver Bronco. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine was released this winter as well, opening three spots atop the depth chart. And in their place? Miami has started the churn with three rookies and a pair of notable former draft selections in free agency.
You’re not going to recognize what’s on the perimeter. The best way to make the most of such a situation? To pool as much competition as possible. And there’s a new free agent to be at the position that should have the Dolphins’ interest.
Former Packers receiver Samori Toure is reportedly being released, could be of interest to the Miami Dolphins
Samori Toure is a former Green Bay Packers selection from 2022. That, of course, is firmly in the “Jon-Eric Sullivan” sweet spot for recent Packers history. A seventh-round draft choice out of Nebraska, Toure played two years in Green Bay in 2022 and 2023 before brief stints in Chicago and New Orleans. The Saints, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, are releasing Toure from his futures contract after double-dipping at wide receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Dolphins triple-dipped. But with no proven volume targets atop the depth chart, the logical maneuver could be to pool as much competition as possible.
Toure isn’t a proven NFL target, either. But there’s familiarity with Sullivan and Toure could be another option to both push the rookies or seize the moment for himself. If Miami is, in any capacity, interested in another pass catcher for the pile…we’ve got one. Financial impact for the Dolphins would be negligible here, too. The Dolphins are strapped against the cap ceiling until June 1st but Toure would likely be a veteran minimum salary player. Miami can afford plenty of those.
