We got a very promising update with week on a potential contract extension for one of the Miami Dolphins’ best players
Miami Dolphins center Aaron Brewer is entering into a contract year and considered a strong candidate for an extension. It sounds like he’s expecting one.
There’s been no shortage of speculation around the status of Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane‘s contract.
Achane was not present this past week at offseason workouts, the first sign of a potential leverage play to help facilitate a new deal. The smart money is on a contract eventually getting done and Achane staying in Miami long-term. But his contract isn’t the only one worth monitoring for the Dolphins this summer. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks and center Aaron Brewer are both extension candidates as well. And thanks to a familiar face, we’ve got a promising update on Brewer’s situation with the Dolphins.
Dolphins center Aaron Brewer offers promising update during interview with former Miami tackle Terron Armstead
There’s a saying: it isn’t what you say, but how you say it.
That saying comes to mind when watching former Miami Dolphins tackle Terron Armstead ask Brewer this past week on Armstead’s ‘The Set’ on YouTube about the possibility of a new contract. Sly grins. Smiles. And, eventually, an affirmation from Brewer.
Armstead asked: “Would you say that is somewhat accurate that a new contract is potentially coming…allegedly!”

“I see something in the near future,” said Brewer after a grin. “I wouldn’t say…I’m quite a visionary, but I see something in the near future.”
The development would be a welcomed one for Miami, who is seeking to fortify their offensive line and build the trenches under the leadership of new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan. Sullivan has, this offseason, indicated that an extension for Brewer will be in the works and considered to be a priority.
Miami may end up needing to wait until after June 1st, when they get an additional $20 million in cap space from the Post-6/1 release of Bradley Chubb, to formalize a deal. But at the very least, it does sound like Brewer is expecting to see one in the near future either way.
