The Minnesota Vikings have a chance to improve to 1-1 on Thursday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Unfortunately, that won't be easy, as one starter has already been confirmed out, while two others remain questionable. Per the team's Wednesday injury report, starting center Garrett Bradbury will not play in Philly.
Lef tackle Christian Darrisaw is questionable, as is EDGE Marcus Davenport, who did not play in the opener.
Being without Bradbury is a huge loss for the Vikings. The Eagles led the league in sacks a year ago, so even with healthy starters, this would be a tough task. Throw in that Darrisaw will also not be 100% if he even plays, and things are not looking pretty.
With Bradbury out, the Vikes will likely turn to Austin Schlottmann to be the starting center. Schlottmann played most of the game in Week 1 after Bradbury went down and delivered mixed results. The lineman ended with a 60.7 PFF grade.
If Darrisaw also can't go, we will be looking at a starting line of Oli Udoh, Ezra Cleveland, Austin Schlottmann, Ed Ingram, and Brian O'Neill. That is… not ideal, especially when going against the massive Eagles' front.
Davenport would be another huge loss. The veteran didn't play in Week 1, and the team was unable to generate any pressure. Danielle Hunter had the team's lone sack against the Buccaneers. DJ Wonnum filled in for Davenport and was unable to get any QB hits, sacks, or tackles for loss.
Thursday Night Football games are always tough, but even more so when a team is banged up. Hopefully, the injured players can recover before another tough matchup in Week 3 with the Los Angeles Chargers.
