Tom Brady and Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels might be working together once again.
The former New England Patriots quarterback has agreed to purchase a minority share in the Raiders, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports. The Raiders have also agreed to the transaction, which has been submitted to the NFL for its approval.
Breer added that this "won't be done at the spring meeting, but the ball is rolling on it."
Raiders owner Mark Davis already has a history of working alongside Brady, with the seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback also owning the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces, of which Brady is a minority owner.
Brady's name has been associated with the Raiders organization many times this season, with speculation that he might go join McDaniels for his final season in the NFL. Yet, the 45-year-old quarterback announced his retirement, ending those rumors and instead is trying his hand in business.
In his first season as head coach, McDaniels led the Raiders to a 6-11 record, finishing in third in the AFC West and missing the playoffs. Following the struggling season, long-time quarterback Derek Carr left to join the Saints after nine years in Las Vegas.
Yet, Brady and McDaniels — then. as offensive coordinator — have a solid history of working together with the duo winning six Super Bowls together while in New England.
So, let's see if they can recreate that success.
