Despite missing Fanduel's "Kick of Destiny" last year during the Super Bowl, Rob Gronkowski is determined to redeem himself. So the former New England Patriots tight end will attempt the 25-yard field goal on live television once again.

However, it seems another celebrity was interested in getting the opportunity to try it out. And because of that, he is betting against Gronkowski.

So during a press event prior to the big kick, Gronkowski had some words for John Cena.

“Yeah, John Cena, he’s really going against me. He wanted the kick, but the executive of FanDuel said ‘no, you’re not doing the kick,” Gronkowski explained. “I busted through the door and told John Cena, this is my kick. This is my kick of Destiny. And he got all mad at me."

So what would happen if Gronkowski missed this one too?

“If I miss, I’m gonna have to take it out on him,” he said. “I’m gonna have to probably see him face-to-face in the ring at Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, whatever it is. He can call the shot. He can call the shot, one-on-one vs. him. That would be a battle, man. That would be fun as well. I would take it on. I would do it.”

And the tight end is no stranger to wrestling.

During his first stint in retirement, Gronkowski hosted WrestleMania 36 and won the WWE 24/7 Championship. However, he did eventually lose the belt two months later.

So Gronkowski vs. Cena could eventually happen.

“He’s my kryptonite,” Gronkowski said. “He wants me to miss. He’s been he’s been going at me. He’s disappointed that he’s not the guy kicking the ball. He wanted to be the one that was going to kick it this year. But I came through and I’m going for my redemption kick.”
