The New Orleans Saints don't lack talent at the wide receiver position and it will be interesting to see how all the battles shape out in training camp and during the preseason.

Although he's a late-round selection, rookie wide receiver A.T. Perry will have some eyes on him due to standing 6'3" and possessing 4.47 speed. Also, Perry's nearly 2,400 yards and 26 touchdowns over his final two collegiate seasons aren't too shabby either.

The physical measurables of Perry have him drawing comparisons to a Saints legend, Marques Colston. At 6'4" and 225 pounds, Colston played 10 years for the Saints and is the team's all-time leader in receptions (711), yards (9,759), and receiving touchdowns (72). Also, he was a late-round selection just like Perry.

So, that's quite the guy for Perry to have his name in the same sentence with, but he doesn't seem rattled by it.

"I think it's pretty cool, being compared to one of the greats that's been through this system, been with this team," Perry said. "I just hope to make a big impact, coming out ready to play."

Colston had six 1,000-yard seasons in his first seven years including 2009 when the Saints won their only Super Bowl. Granted, he did so playing with one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Drew Brees. But the fact that he was so trusted during that time says a lot, and the production was plentiful.

He's been gone almost a decade, but Colston still has some big shoes to fill that are currently empty, and a lot of guys may fold under those circumstances. Don't put Perry in that category.

"I wouldn't say there's any pressure there. I'm just coming out and doing my job, doing it to the best of my ability. Most importantly, I come out and I want to be a legend," said Perry. "That's my motto. Every day I step on the field, in practice and meetings and everything, I take everything seriously."

That's exactly what the Saints would want to hear from Perry. Step up to the challenge and who knows, Perry could be a big contributor as a rookie. Stranger things have happened.
