The New York Giants' choice at No. 3 overall will be shaped by what the Cleveland Browns do one pick earlier. And if the latest NFL Draft intel is right, it opens the door for a big-name trade featuring Kayvon Thibodeaux.

That's right, there's a possibility former Giants' No. 5 overall pick could find himself in the trade block if ESPN's Adam Schefter is right about the Browns' intentions.

"The latest intel now is that I believe Travis Hunter is the more likely pick at two today," Schefter said on his podcast. "I think the Cleveland Browns saw him on Friday at his Pro Day, and they saw somebody that could move like nobody else."

Earlier in the week, I wrote about how that decision helps the Giants should they want to pick Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders but the question lingers if the front office is willing to spend a premium pick on Deion's son.

If they chose otherwise, Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter would likely be the name on the card they turn in. Considered an immediate starter by most analysts, choosing Carter would inevitably bring up the question: Where does Thibodeaux fit within the Giants' plans?

Last year, the Giants signed a five-year deal worth $141 million with edge rusher Brian Burns, of which $76.5 million was fully guaranteed at signing. If Carter gets thrown into the mix, he would become the likely starter alongside Burns.

Long-term, Thibodeaux would be greatly affected. Though he's started every game he's played, the results have been varied and a long-term extension isn't the likeliest outcome. Naturally, the Giants could look into a trade.

With an 11.5-sack season to his name, Thibodeaux would surely draw interest from multiple NFL teams, even if it's not for premium compensation. The window to trade the fourth-year player is a large one, as anything from the Draft to the deadline would make sense.

In the meantime, there's a key date to keep in mind that will be very telling about Thibodeaux's future: May 1st.

The Giants have until then to pick up his fifth-year option, which is projected to cost $14.75 million by Over the Cap. If it isn't picked up, New York could be hinting at a future farewell. If Carter is joining the team in April, it could be accelerated.
