The 2026 NFL Draft is just around the corner, and the talks regarding what the Philadelphia Eagles will do only continue to heat up. How will they address needs in the first round? Can they find major value on days two and three?

Only time will tell, but a recent nugget about their plan to potentially add a new wideout if they plan to trade A.J. Brown is a notable one.

Eagles may trade up for A.J. Brown replacement

In an intel piece from ESPN’s Jordan Reid, he pinpointed Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson as a potential target for Philly. There are some injury/play strength concerns about Tyson that may push him down from a possible top ten pick into the late teens or early twenties.

What we’re hearing about the Eagles’ draft: Circle the Eagles as a team that could get aggressive in trading up for a receiver. Jordyn Tyson (Arizona State) is a player to watch, as he could still be on the board in the Nos. 17-20 range. GM Howie Roseman is notorious for drafting replacements for veterans a year in advance.” — Jordan Reid, ESPN

Tyson has the upside of a WR1 at the NFL level, and the Eagles staff has already doubled down on the idea that they think Devonta Smith can be a top wideout for a successful NFL offense.

Given the risk, though, moving up for Tyson may be a tough pill to swallow.

The Birds currently hold the 23rd pick, so trading somewhere in the 15-17 range may cost them a third-round pick. It truly depends on what the other teams in those spots see as value, given what the board looks like by then.

No matter what – this sort of intel is something to keep an eye on. It feels doubtful that the consistent WR rumblings early in the draft would coincide with insiders thinking that A.J. Brown remains in Philadelphia this offseason.

Rather, a trade with the New England Patriots feels rather likely. We will see how it all plays out for the veteran WR and the rookie class for the Eagles.
