NFL insider delivers potential draft plan for Eagles if they are going to trade star WR A.J. Brown to Patriots
How could the Eagles navigate the 2026 NFL Draft if they plan to trade A.J. Brown? An insider may have just given a huge hint to that.
The trade rumor continues to churn around the NFL. The most notable discussion, of course, surrounds Philadelphia Eagles wideout A.J. Brown and the New England Patriots.
While other teams were previously involved, the offseason has played out a bit more, and many reports indicate that a reunion with Mike Vrabel feels most likely if Brown is dealt this offseason.
Recent insider mock draft scenario has an A.J. Brown trade happening between Eagles and Patriots
In an exercise between ESPN’s Mina Kimes and NFL Draft insider Daniel Jeremiah, Jeremiah picked Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston as the pick for Philadelphia at no. 23. It came with the caveat that an A.J. Brown trade to the Patriots will also occur.
While he didn’t guarantee that happening, his comments have certainly stirred the pot a bit more as Eagles fans look for any update on Brown’s future in Philly. It’s worth noting that Jeremiah felt it was worth bringing up as a clear possibility and continued the discussion.
Mock drafts are simply to see what teams would look like if certain picks, trades, decisions, and so much more play out in a certain way.
For the Eagles in this scenario, they would be adding a big-bodied option in Boston to a passing offense that would need it if the front office was planning to trade away Brown post-June 1.
Denzel Boston
“Boston isn’t going to be a player every team prioritizes, but is one that every offense can utilize. In a world where a traditional X-receiver isn’t as prevalent as it was in the 1990s, Boston adds an element that can be the X-factor in the passing game. He combines excellent size with everything needed to be a dominant outside receiver: body control, playing through contact, and ball skills at the catch point. He offers the same downsides that an X-receiver often does, with some route-running limitations, and isn’t the most fluid mover, but the strengths more than outweigh the issues.” — Tyler Forness
As for Brown in this case, he would be off to join the reigning AFC champions in New England. Both sides could benefit in the long run, but only time will tell if Philly moves on from one of their most beloved players from the past few years.
