The Philadelphia Eagles are set to take on the New York Giants in primetime for Thursday Night Football, and there is some concern among the fan base about the recent disconnect between wide receiver A.J. Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Head coach Nick Sirianni, however, sought to ease those worries ahead of the game, revealing that he met with both Brown and Hurts to address the offensive struggles following last Sunday’s missed opportunity against the Denver Broncos.

“Love the fact that we all get together and are looking for solutions to continue to get better,” Sirianni told reporters on Wednesday via NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro. “That’s just not a coaching thing, that’s just not a leaders on the football team, that’s this team. That’s the mindset of this team is how do we keep getting better? Playing our best football by the end of the year. So you love that. You love that for all the guys.”

The Eagles Are Used to Getting Over Growing Pains

If any team knows how to push through growing pains, it’s the Eagles. After slipping up following a 10-1 start to the 2023 season, they came into last fall with something to prove and went on to win Super Bowl LIX.

What happened last Sunday isn’t as drastic, but fixing those problems early now can prevent another downfall from happening.

“This isn’t all that different than last year, going through these things as well,” Sirianni said. “You buckle down, you find solutions, you find answers to the problems, and you work yourself to get better from that. That’s what it’s about. That’s how you grow. That’s a mental toughness thing. Obviously, we’re all going through that and trying to get better. Great, we get to play a game tomorrow. You don’t have to sit with this loss that we had Sunday for too long. We get to go out and play a game tomorrow. We’re really excited about that.”
