Steelers using final pre-draft visits to get to know one of the most polarizing quarterback prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft
The Pittsburgh Steelers are using the final days of draft visits to get a up close look at one of the most polarizing quarterback prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have made it abundantly clear that they are interested in a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft. If it wasn’t the words from Mike McCarthy, look no further than some of the pre-draft visits from the Steelers this week as evdience to their interests.
Well, on Wednesday, the final day of pre-draft visits, the Steelers hosted one of the draft’s more polarizing prospects at the quarterback position, and you can start putting two and two together.
Steelers host PSU QB Drew Allar on the final day of the top-30 visits
Allar is easily one of the most physically dominant quarterbacks in the class. I watched Alllar in person against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish during the College Football Playoff Semifinal in 2024-2025, and you can see the bones of a franchise quarterback. He has the size, the arm talent, and a baseline of athleticism to be a standout signal caller.
The problem is, all of the intangible qualities required to be a quarterback seem to be lacking with Allar. Her struggles to read and process defenses, and his instincts for the position, don’t seem to be there at times.
That being said, if the Steelers are actually interested in Allar, I would hope they would wait until the 5th round or later, even if he may be gone before then.
Steelers also host Arizona DB Treydan Stukes
When you look at the tape and the testing numbers of Stukes, it’s hard to find a reason why he wouldn’t be a first-rounder. He has very few flaws on film. Elite ball skills, highly instinctual, aggressive, and versatile, Stukes can be deployed in multiple alignments and excel in all of them. His age and injury history are understandable detractors, but this is a player who went from walk-on to highly valued draft prospect. He’s not just a good story; he’s a good player.
Steelers host Ohio State TE Will Kacmarek
“Ohio State tight end Will Kacmarek previously played for the Ohio Bobcats. While Max Klare got the majority of headlines in the Buckeye tight end room this past season, Kacmarek was an extremely valuable member of the offense this past season. He’s a dominant run blocker, showing great intent and strain to finish as a blocker.”
“With his bigger frame and effort, Kacmarek has shown the ability to create movement at the point of attack. He is also effective working on the move and in the screen name. While Kacmarek isn’t a dynamic wide receiver, he has soft hands and a big frame, which should translate well near the red zone. His ceiling is limited, but Kacmarek has the feel of a TE2 that becomes an invaluable member of a running game.” – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports NFL Draft
