Well, that wasn't pretty for a second. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have been able to look pretty good on defense for most of the game, especially when you consider the tough circumstances with injuries, but the offense fell flat in the worst way.

In an offensive league, having the defense show up but the offense failing isn't a recipe for success, and the results were somewhat expected.

The Eagles exposed the Buccaneers on the national stage. Now, it's on Tampa to make the necessary changes to keep this from happening again.

The offensive struggles of last night shouldn't come as a massive surprise. The Eagles are stacked on defense. The Buccaneers have a head coach that is stuck in the 90s when it comes to what he wants on offense.

All that Bowles has ever wanted is an offense that establishes the run and keep the defense off the field. How did that work last night?

The rushing attack last night weas pretty horrific and an obvious reason why the Bucs failed to post enough points to make the most of their defensive stands.

41 yards on 17 carries should be enough to get the whole room fired, and the insistence by Dave Canales to stick with the run when it was obvious that it was failing was not a good luck for the rising offensive coordinator.

Sure, Baker Mayfield was getting pursued heavily by a talented Eagles pass rush, but that is why teams need to get the quick passing game going with a mix of play action to make space for a mobile quarterback.

The Bucs didn't do this.

A good pass rush doesn't mean you have to abandon the pass-it just means you have to get creative with how you make it work for the quarterback, and that is what the Buccaneers failed to do.

In the end, the whole ordeal was pretty messy for Tampa, especially on offense, and it looks like Todd Bowles and company will have to go back to the drawing board to get this team back on the right track.

If there was one thing that last night showed us, it's that avoiding change won't help this team. The Buccaneers need to adapt. Todd Bowles would be wise to acknowledge this soon.
