The Washington Commanders addressed their secondary need by acquiring Marshon Lattimore from the New Orleans Saints at the NFL trade deadline.
However, their need is too big for any one player to address alone. Addressing it will be one of the team's biggest needs in the offseason.
In a new A to Z Sports mock draft, they add a talented cornerback who, if it weren't for an injury, would likely hear his name well before when the Commanders are on the clock.
Commanders land East Carolina CB Shavon Revel Jr. in a new mock draft

"Washington's outside cornerbacks have allowed the most receptions, the second-most yards, and the most touchdowns in the NFL this season. That's just not going to fly in a division that has CeeDee Lamb, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Malik Nabers in it. Shavon Revel's film is a little more limited than I would like in a first-round cornerback, but he's a perfect fit for Dan Quinn's defense."
Shavon Revel Jr. was one of the biggest names of players expected to enter the 2025 NFL Draft from a Group of Five school. Revel was someone most were excited to watch for this upcoming season, which made it even more heartbreaking that his season ended after just three games with a torn ACL.
Especially after he set his career high with two interceptions in such a short time. He appeared to be on the verge of a massive final collegiate season. And if he had, we probably wouldn't be talking about him as even an option for the Commanders in the latter half of the first round. But the injury did happen, and as a result, he seems to be someone the Commanders and their fans should get to know.
And with the NFC East filled with talented wide receivers, they need to add as much talent in the secondary as possible. A duo of Lattimore and Revel Jr. could be just what the doctor ordered for the Commanders' defense. Both are excellent fits for Dan Quinn's scheme and would properly utilize their skill sets.
