The talent in the 2025 NFL Draft has long been discussed as one that isn't heavy in potential star-caliber players. What it lacks in top-end talent, though, it makes up for with a strong group of players that are more than capable of making an impact at the next level.

As NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah put it, this is a class of starters. So what does that mean for the Buffalo Bills?

Honestly, this lines up fantastically both with what the Buffalo Bills need, and with the picks that general manager Brandon Beane currently has at his disposal. The Bills current needs are primarily at defensive tackle, No. 2 cornerback, Edge, maybe depth at safety, and maybe a true speed threat at wide receiver.

The Bills are a playoff team with championship abilities so long as they have Josh Allen. They continuously get close, but fall up short. They're a fortunate organization that they aren't heading into this year's draft hoping and needing to draft a star player that becomes the face of the franchise for years to come. They don't need their quarterback. That part's done.

What the Buffalo Bills need is starters, and good role players. They need a corner on the opposite side of recently-extended Christian Benford that is capable of playing solid man coverage and that has ball-hawking instincts. They need an edge rusher that can be a part of the rotation, with Greg Rousseau and newly-acquired Joey Bosa likely getting the heaviest amount of reps. They need an interior defensive tackle that can handle double-teams, shed blockers, and stop the run. They need more good players at direct positions of needs than they do elite top-end talent.

This isn't to say that a player exceeding your expectations is a bad thing. Far from it. In fact, it's more than fair to say that Brandon Beane has been better at that than he has at drafting early talent (outside of Allen). There are a ton of players in this year's draft class that have the ability to fit the roles that the Bills need them to fit, and if they burst onto the scene and make a bigger impact than what they're expected to, then all the better. With five picks in the first four rounds (as of now), the Bills are set up perfectly to maximize this year's NFL Draft.
