The Kansas City Chiefs are getting ready to host an SEC defender on a top-30 visit who could find himself in the top-100 picks in the 2025 NFL draft.

As first reported by FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Alabama's Quandarrius "Que" Robinson is set to visit the Chiefs after a recent visit with the Detroit Lions, a visit with the Carolina Panthers, and an upcoming visit with the Atlanta Falcons. He's already got the perfect nickname for a city that takes pride in its barbecue. You can rest assured he'd have a dozen brand deal offers before playing his first snap in the league.

Robinson doesn't have much experience as he enters the NFL, with just 163 career pass-rushing snaps during his time with the Crimson Tide. What's appealing to the NFL is that he generated a staggering 25 pressures and five sacks in that span.

The 6-foot-4 and 243-pound edge rusher played just nine games in 2024 before suffering an elbow injury. During that span, he posted a 24% pass rush win rate and 8.1% run stop rate, according to Pro Football Focus.

What is a top 30 visit?

NFL teams are allowed 30 pre-draft visits with potential prospects in a given draft class. Clubs bring prospects to their facilities for meetings with coaching, training, medical, and other staff. It's essentially an orientation to NFL life in Kansas City.

The Chiefs utilize their top 30 visits in a few different ways, but they almost always denote that the team has some level of interest in a player, whether they're expected to be a draft pick or an undrafted free agent.

A few of the players the Chiefs have selected in the past who have had top 30 visits include Kingsley Suamataia, Rashee Rice, BJ Thompson, Jaylen Watson, Joshua Williams, Nick Bolton, and Juan Thornhill. They've also added undrafted free agents from the visits, like Carson Steele.

Exploring Alabama EDGE Que Robinson's fit with the Chiefs

Robinson would actually be a bit of an atypical edge rusher for Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo's scheme. He's got the frame and the length that Spags likes, but he's about 20 pounds too light to play anything other than a designated pass-rusher role if he's to stay at the edge rusher position. The flashes there are really exciting, with Robinson showing some real burst, power, and a nice pass-rush toolkit for his very limited repetitions.

One possibility is that the Chiefs actually view Robinson as an off-ball linebacker in their system. He's actually played  85 snaps as an off-ball linebacker over the past two seasons for Alabama, and the tape is surprisingly impressive.

Either way, Robinson is a bit of a project and a questionable scheme fit for Kansas City. This could simply be a matter of the Chiefs bringing him in for a medical recheck on the elbow injury that ended his season prematurely in 2024. Due to his injury, he's yet to go through any timed testing at either the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine or the Alabama Pro Day. He'll hold a private workout for NFL teams on April 1, where he'll have a chance to showcase his athleticism.
