It appears as though many NFL teams are higher on defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott than Josh Heupel and the Tennessee coaching staff were.

Per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Norman-Lott has been making the rounds among NFL teams interested in taking a closer look at him ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Tennessee DT Omarr Norman-Lott has a long list of interested teams ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Norman-Lott, who participated in the Senior Bowl back in January, has quite the list of teams who want a closer look at the talented interior defensive linemen with two weeks left before the draft, and they include a number of teams who are rebuilding as well as some perennial playoff teams. The Buccaneers put great value on having a deep and talented defensive line, and the Chiefs and 49ers have ridden talented defensive fronts to reach the Super Bowl in recent years.

As such, with nine teams already on the books to visit with or having visited with Norman-Lott, it seems like a good bet that he'll hear his name called on the second day of the draft, perhaps as early as round two.

And why not?  Whoever gets Norman-Lott will get an important first-round skill from a player with not much tread taken off his tires by the Tennessee Vols, who greatly underutilized him during his time in Knoxville.

Norman-Lott had just 139 pass rushing snaps for the Vols in 2024, per Pro Football Focus.  He turned those 139 snaps into 27 pressures.  That's a pressure rate of 19.4%.  By way of comparison, fellow Vol James Pearce, Jr., who led all of FBS edge rushers in pressure rate last year, posted a rate of 21.7%.  That's a ridiculously high rate for an interior rusher, and one that's obviously captured the attention of scouts and front offices around the NFL.

Heupel and defensive coordinator Tim Banks liked to rotate their defensive linemen last year to keep them fresh.  That's obviously not a bad thing.  However, when you had someone as dominating inside as Norman-Lott was, it's just a shame that talent wasn't utilized even more.

That could especially become evident on Sundays moving forward.
