Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Cedric Tillman is hoping to solidify his spot on the Cleveland Browns’ 53-man roster in training camp.

And he got off to a good start this weekend by catching a touchdown from backup quarterback Dillon Gabriel.

Gabriel and Tillman both spent two seasons playing under current Vols head coach Josh Heupel.

Tillman played for Heupel at Tennessee in 2021 and 2022 .

Gabriel played for Heupel in 2019 and 2020 at UCF (Gabriel started at quarterback as a true freshman for Heupel in 2019).

Tillman is entering his fourth season with the Browns and he’s on the roster bubble. The former Vol has battled injuries while catching 71 passes for 833 yards and five touchdowns during his first three seasons in Cleveland.

Isaiah Bond, Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion, and Jerry Jeudy are considered locks to make the Browns’ 53-man roster. Tillman is battling Tylan Wallace, Jamari Thrash, Gage Larvadain, and Malachi Corley for one of the final spots.
