The New Orleans Saints are getting their ducks in a row for the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. With it starting in just a week, some notable news continues to come through regarding the dynamics of the process.

For New Orleans, a familiar face and special talent will play a role in announcing their rookie class.

Ryan Ramczyk will announce draft picks

According to a league-wide announcement, long-time Saints offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk will announce the team's draft picks on day two of the draft. As of now, the Saints pick three times between rounds two and three.

On an annual basis, the Saints have had veteran players, franchise legends, and other pieces of the org's history announce picks. Now, the former Pro Bowl tackle will do that as well.

Retirement

Ramczyk just officially announced his retirement from the NFL. He did not play last season due to a degenerative knee injury, and he will not play for New Orleans this season, either.

Per Over The Cap's Jason Fitzgerald, Ramczyk agreed to waive his $18 million base salary for 2025 while reducing it to the league minimum, which saved the Saints a little more than $16.7 million against the salary cap. He'll remain on the roster until June 2 with a cap hit of $12.3 million (instead of $29 million before this move), at which point they'll formally release him and process his retirement. — Saints Wire

Ramczyk went a bit viral during last season for his appearance at a game, where he was seen looking a lot slimmer. He has lost a lot of weight over the last year, since he has not been preparing to play due to the unfortunate injury luck.

Regardless, he will play a role in this year's draft process for New Orleans. We will see if he carves out a coaching role sometime in the future as well.
