We're all trying to figure out what the Dallas Cowboys will do in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
So far, the consensus is they will pick a wide receiver in the first round but what about the rounds beyond? We take one last stab at predicting things with this five-round mock. The Cowboys also have five picks in the sixth and seventh round so trading up is a possibility later this week.
Let's dive in.
Round 1, Pick 12: WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona
It all seems to come down to McMillan and Texas' Matthew Golden. If both are on the board, however, McMillan seems like the best choice. He's got the size you can't teach and the one-on-one ball skills that can be a big difference maker as an immediate WR2, a role he's almost guaranteed if the Cowboys pick him.
The question will be if McMillan can win other ways than being a 50-50 ball guy. But the Cowboys have a promising new wide receiver coach in Junior Adams, who came in from the Oregon Ducks.
Round 2, Pick 44: CB Shavon Revel Jr., East Carolina
Revel Jr.'s position on NFL teams draft boards is likely to vary tremendously due to a season-ending ACL injury last year. However, the Cowboys are more than comfortable making this kind of swings, even more so in the second round. He's got size, length, and physicality to be a Day 1 starter provided he's healthy and true CB1 potential in the long run.
Round 3, Pick 76: RB Damien Martinez, Miami
Though not the every down back the Cowboys could get in the first two rounds, Martinez's physicality would fit Brian Schottenheimer's and Klayton Adams' vision for violence in the run game, specially if they implement gap scheme concepts like counter, which Adams ran a lot of in Arizona. Martinez was invited to the Cowboys' local Pro Day.
Round 5, Pick 149: LB Danny Stutsman, Oklahoma
This is the kind of player you trade back into the fourth round for if you ask me but the Cowboys get him in the fifth in this scenario. That's a massive steal in my eyes.
Stutsman has NFL size and comes from a diverse defensive scheme from Brett Venables. He can be a solid backup and who knows, maybe he can compete for a spot on the rotation while Dallas waits for DeMarvion Overshown to be back on the field.
Round 5, Pick 174: S R.J. Mickens, Clemson
Mickens' athleticism isn't off the charts but he played in one of the best defenses in college football and was a standout while he was at it. He's a high-IQ player that can provide solid play off the bench and would likely be a special teamer Day 1.
Betting world drops major hints on what the Dallas Cowboys will and won’t do in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft
Golden vs McMillan hints, too.
