The 2025 NFL Draft holds many questions. The answers will be handed down in just over a week. Regardless, the New Orleans Saints are the enigma that no one can seem to figure out.

How will they address their new QB issue? Do they need to add defensive talent early? What about offensive weapons for Kellen Moore?

Shedeur's possible fall

According to Albert Breer, he believes that it would be surprising if Sanders is picked in the top ten at this point. Of course, the NFL Draft, particularly round, remains fluid at this point of the offseason. Opinions differ.

Anyway, I don’t think Sanders is going in the top three. And at this point, it feels like it’d be surprising if the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets or Saints took him in the top 10.

I’ve had more than one person say to me that if Sanders goes in the first round, it’ll be because an owner got involved. That, of course, is a bit of a guess from a few guys who are clued into how Sanders is viewed. But it’s also a bit of a window into the way evaluators are looking at the Colorado star. — Breer

That being said, this development and belief is notable. Last week, many mock drafts pegged Sanders to New Orleans at ninth overall. He even reached minus odds to be the Saints' first pick at one point.

Those odds have drifted back to the plus side, with the Pittsburgh Steelers continuing to climb. It seems like the market for Shedeur only gets cloudier by the day, ahead of night one.

Saints must choose their path

For New Orleans, the injury news on Derek Carr opened a bit of a door for Kellen Moore. He can enter a brand new season of Saints football, with a potential long-term answer at QB with a rookie option. Now, it remains to be seen if that's the route he chooses.

Taking a quarterback would set up Kellen Moore to be connected to that player for his first HC tenure in the pros.

That is risky, especially if he does not believe in that prospect as a first-round talent. We don't know for sure how he sees a player like Sanders, Jaxson Dart, or even Jalen Milroe.

Regardless, there is a calm confidence about Moore. He seems like the sort of coach that won't panic during the draft. He has a plan, and hopefully, he will be able to execute – for the Saints roster's overall heath and outlook going forward. The Saints cannot outrun these tough choices  any longer.
