There's a rising feeling the New York Giants will kick things off in the 2025 NFL Draft at No. 3 overall. The Tennessee Titans are largely expected to pick QB Cam Ward out of Miami and rumors around the Cleveland Browns going Travis Hunter are getting louder days away from the big day.

So in the eyes of many, likely with Shedeur Sanders and Abdul Carter on the board, the Draft starts when the Giants go on the clock.

And based on the latest news, the front office is getting one step closer to picking Sanders. At the very least, they're leaving no stone unturned.

That's because according to multiple reports, the Giants plan to hold a private workout with the Colorado quarterback on Thursday, one week away from the first round of the Draft.

"New York has done a lot of work on Sanders since the fall," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Monday. "Now, one more look the week before the draft."

The news could mean many things; Perhaps a last look before ruling Sanders out of the team's top pick. Maybe an attempt to drive up trade value for the third overall pick. Or it could be good ol' due diligence.

But the update likely means one week away from the Draft, he remains in firm contention to be the choice, which would land Sanders in a quarterback room featuring Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

Sanders at No. 3 has been a controversial notion. On the one hand, the Giants want to win urgently and Sanders could provide immediate competition—he could beat Wilson for the starting job even as a rookie— as well as a long-term plan. On the other, is a QB with a non-elite arm worth such a premium selection? Should New York truly pass on a talent like Carter's?

That question will define so many things in the 2025 NFL Draft. Thursday's news suggests there's a high chance the pick is a quarterback.
