The Dallas Cowboys' mandatory minicamp will kick off Tuesday and true to his word, Micah Parsons is fully expected to attend.

The star edge rusher said since last season he would be around the team even as he negotiates a deal likely to make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Parsons didn't practice at OTAs but he was in contact with the team and was in and out of the building for several reasons, from schedule release promotion to team pictures.

With potential fines on the line, Parsons said via social media last week he would be at minicamp, confirming the words from his head coach Brian Schottenheimer. However, in that very message, Parsons might've foreshadowed a potential training camp holdout.

Parsons has suggested he won't hold out but in his recent social media post, he wrote a sentence that should raise some eyebrows:

"Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook!," Parsons posted in relation to attending minicamp. "I’m preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it’s in the owner’s hands."

You may read that in different ways but it sure sounds like he's saying his attendance in minicamp is to prepare himself to be there in the first week of camp. . . "BUT it's in the owner's hands."

In other words, though he's preparing to be at camp, he might not be there if the owner doesn't make a deal official by then. The Cowboys will report to training camp in late July at Oxnard, California. I'm sure some people noticed it but going by the fact it didn't become an overnight national storyline, it sounds like no one it.

Even if Parsons wants to show up, there's a high likelihood his agent—David Mulugheta—convinces him not to. Even Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love held out from camp amid negotiations last year. Love is also represented by Mulugheta.

For now, expect No. 11 to be with the team. But once camp kicks off, for which practices contact is allowed, there better be a deal in place. Otherwise, Parsons might not show up.
