We have reached our top ranked quarterback that the Chiefs will face during the 2025 season. The rivalry runs deep, but Kansas City has always gotten the last laugh. Let's dive in. . .

No. 1: Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen

The Chiefs' history with Allen is pretty unique. Allen is 4-1 against K.C. in his career during the regular season, with his only loss coming in his third year back in Week 6 of 2020. Not many QBs have had that type of sustained success against the Chiefs during the Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes era.

On the flip side, however, Allen is 0-4 against K.C. in his career during the postseason. The first loss came in the 2020 AFC Championship Game when the Chiefs handled the Bills with relative ease 38-24. The following year came one of the most memorable playoff games in NFL history, with K.C. edging out Buffalo 42-36 in overtime during the divisional round.

Fast forward to 2023, the Chiefs knocked off the Bills in Buffalo 27-24, once again in the divisional round. Most recently, K.C. emerged victorious over the Bills 32-29 in the 2024 AFC Championship Game. Now entering his eighth NFL season, the pressure is mounting on Allen to get Buffalo over the hump.

Allen has been one of the best regular season QBs of this generation. He is a three-time Pro Bowler, two-time Second-Team All-Pro, and was named NFL MVP for the 2024 season. He also holds the all-time record for most rushing touchdowns by a QB in a single season with 15, and the highest passer rating in a single postseason at 149.0.

As if playing the Bills isn't a challenging enough task, the Chiefs will face them in Buffalo in Week 6, coming off a short week in which they play the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football. Anything can happen between now and then, but it's safe to assume the Bills will be favored in that game.

But we as Chiefs fans know by now that a midseason loss doesn't mean much. If Allen and the Bills really want to change their legacy, they'll have to find a way to beat K.C. in the playoffs and go on to win a Super Bowl. If that never happens, Allen's career could be defined by it regardless of how much regular season success he has.
