The 2025 NFL Combine is where athletes shed their teamwork mentality for just a week and focus solely on themselves. It is the pre-eminent job interview process, and Ohio State is well represented. The Buckeyes are hoping to break a record for how many players will be drafted in one class, and star pass-rusher Jack Sawyer will be an early pick from the National Championship team.

Sawyer, riding high after enjoying a historic run through the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff, had an exciting surprise upon arriving at the Combine. Watch below as he describes what it was like to see former teammate JT Tuimoloau.

When asked whether it was fun for Sawyer to be rooming with Tuimoloau, Sawyer had a great response.

Yeah, I know it's funny, you know, we're, we're getting out here and he's out here out there training with me in California too, so we got told that, you know, your roommates out here could be random, and so I checked in first, and, you know, the bags didn't have names on them, so I had no idea who it was, and then here comes JT walking out of the hallway, so we started laughing.

The fact that Sawyer and Tuimoloau are reunited again is probably not as random as they may have been told, but it's a terrific outcome nonetheless. The pair of edge-rushers totaled 46.5 sacks over the last four years and were main faces of the Buckeyes' defense for the majority of that time.

It wasn't always positive, but the duo transformed into a dangerous pairing that raised the unit's performance when it mattered most.

Sawyer has a shot to make his way into the end of Round 1 with a great Combine. Tuimoloau is a solid Day 2 pick, so he's just slightly behind his teammate.
