The Las Vegas Raiders have a new regime in town, again, and we're archy, really getting close to seeing how they will operate, as the 2025 NFL Combine is here, and free agency is around the corner.

With free agency before the 2025 NFL Draft, we will get a chance to see Pete Carroll, the former Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl-winning head coach, at work along with new GM John Spytek, who has also won a Super Bowl or two with both the Denver Broncos and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We have no clue how the two together will attack the 2025 NFL Draft or the free agency period.

But, what we do know, is that there is no one who has more say than the other in terms of roster building. Spytek won't overrule Carroll and Carroll won't overrule Spytek.

"Yeah, we're going to be collaborative," Pete Carroll said at the 2025 NFL Combine. "We're going to do this thing together. To me, I'm using everybody that's around me. They're using me in every way that we possibly can, and we're going to work out our decisions, and that's to draw the best that we have to offer. And that means sometimes you got to discuss hard and long to get to the point, but you’ve got to know when to and when not to.

"John [Spytek] being in his first time doing this job, in particular, he doesn't come across like he's never done this before. He comes across like he's been around. He's gets it. He has a mentality, he has an approach and an idea of what he's all about. I'm going to make that come to life. I'm going to try to help him in every way I possibly can to be just fully prepared and ready and balanced when he makes the choices in a decision that he makes, that we share it. So it's going to be really a good deal."

The Raiders have a lot of decisions to make over the next few months, and the two of them are going to be in lockstep with one another. And, that's ultimately what you want to hear. Liam Coen, the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, was asked this same question and his answer rings true, even for the Raiders.

The moment there is a hierarchy is the moment that there are egos. And, you can't win when people have egos that can't be checked. I think Carroll and Spytek both know and respect what each other has done to this point and they will be able to find a way to come to an agreement on some type of decision for every decision that needs to be made.
