Blade Tidwell throws immaculate inning for Mets
Tidwell threw an immaculate inning in the bigs this weekend. He threw nine pitches, nine strikes – for three strikeouts. He was simply untouchable and as close to perfect as you can get on the mound.
Tidwell was understandably excited about his output and feat after the game. He found out about his immaculate inning from social media, though, according to the fireballer himself.
Tidwell projects as a potential piece to the pitching staff for New York sometime this season. He is a non-roster invitee for the Mets during spring training currently.
Brandon Sproat is another former SEC arm that is in the discussion alongside Tidwell for an MLB opportunity sometime this season. Injuries will probably control how much we see either of those two in the bigs in the near future.
The 2022 second-round pick out of Tennessee went 1-9 with a 5.93 ERA over 17 starts at the Triple-A level last season. He is still a young prospect, though, who will get plenty more opportunities at multiple levels.
At Double-A last year, Tidwell was dominant. He recorded a 2.41 ERA, along with 44 Ks and just one allowed home run at that level for New York's system.
Not to mention, Tidwell's arsenal could play in the bullpen as a long-term option for New York. Only time will tell. Regardless, looks like he's taken a step forward as a potential piece for the Mets going forward.

On Monday, Zeigler, who admitted he didn't know it was Vitello sitting courtside at the Auburn game, repaid the favor by wearing a Vitello jersey to his press conference. The vibes […]
