Former Georgia star refuses to double down on his hate for Ohio State with the opportunity right in front of him

Ohio State is one of the biggest brands in sports and with that comes a lot of love and hate. The Buckeyes just won a National Championship, so both sides have been even louder since then naturally.
"I can express this now that I'm not with Georgia football, I hate Ohio State with everything in me," said Ratledge on the “Mullets on the Mic” podcast. "I hate them. I always have and I always will hate Ohio State…..just [my] family has always hated them. So I was kind of [brought] up to hate them. Just never liked them. The fans are cocky. Like with [the] The Ohio State University bulls–t, cut that out, no one cares. Ohio State is the last team I wanted to see win (the national championship)."
That comment ruffled some feathers within the Ohio State fan base as expected, and Ratledge knew that would happen when he said it. The soon-to-be NFL offensive lineman revealed that Ohio State C Seth McLaughlin teased him about it at the combine.
“Seth just messed with me about it right before I walked out here,” Ratledge said. “It was kind of funny. I told him it was nothing against him, just something I grew up like.”
However, when given the chance to open up about his hate for the Buckeyes, Ratledge wanted no part of it.
“I’d rather not speak on that,” he stated. “I’ve already had enough comments on that.”
Ratledge has played the Buckeyes once in his career, which was in the 2022 College Football Playoff, a game the Buckeyes missed the game-winning field goal in. It was also the same game that WR Marvin Harrison Jr. was knocked out of.
Perhaps Ratledge not wanting to double down on his statement is likely just him moving on from it and not giving it any more attention. The former Bulldog said it in the first place though, so backing it up wouldn’t have been a bad idea.
