The Tennessee Vols signed 2025 four-star quarterback George MacIntyre this past December, and the program currently has a commitment from 2026 five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon.

Suffice it to say, the Vols are in good shape at quarterback.

But recruiting, of course, never stops. Tennessee is already working on finding a quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class.

According to 247Sports, the Volunteers will host 2027 five-star quarterback Peyton Houston for an unofficial visit on March 31.

Houston, 6-foot/195 lbs from Shreveport, LA, is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 2 quarterback in the nation and the No. 2 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class. He's also rated as the No. 2 overall player in the state of Louisiana.

The talented quarterback will also take visits this spring to Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M, Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia, USC, Miami, Texas, Mississippi State, and Penn State.

This round of visits will likely help Houston narrow his list of contenders.

Houston has visited Tennessee once before, albeit briefly, for a camp.

The Louisiana native told 247Sports that he's interested in Tennessee in part because Josh Heupel's offense is similar to the offense Houston runs in high school.

“My high school's offense is very similar to Coach Heupel's,” said Houston. “The campus is beautiful. Me and my parents walked around the campus and saw the (basketball) arena, football stadium, and we toured the football ops building. The Peyton Manning room was really cool. The camp was fast-paced, and the coaches were very involved. I loved that. I didn't want to leave, but we had to catch an early flight back for my parents to get to work the next day.”

The last Peyton that Tennessee had at quarterback worked out pretty well back in the 1990s. Maybe the Vols will have similar luck with Houston if he chooses to play college football on Rocky Top.

Tennessee doesn't currently have any players committed to its 2027 recruiting class.
