The Michigan Wolverines have been active in pursuing upgrades along their offense, keen on surrounding elite freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood with as much talent as they can after a dismal 2024 season on offense.
They weren't particularly active in the fall transfer portal, but still added two wide receivers in Donaven McCulley (Indiana) and Anthony Simpson (UMass). They made it clear that they weren't done pursuing more players out of the portal when the next window opened up in the spring.
Their first move here comes with an offer for a talented FCS transfer with plenty of Power 4 offers.
Graduate transfer wide receiver Sincere Brown is fresh off of a breakout 2024 campaign for the Campbell Camels, where he posted 61 catches for 1,028 yards and 12 touchdowns. Brown earned an All-CAA First-Team selection for his efforts in 2024 as well.
Brown has posted offers on his social media from a slew of other Power 4 schools. Texas A&M, North Carolina, Utah, Louisville, West Virginia, California, Arkansas, and Wake Forest have all made offers to Brown since he entered the portal on Tuesday, March 18th.
Sincere Brown is a mainly outside wide receiver with an intriguing skill set that could fit the Wolverines. He's an explosive after-the-catch receiver, with 527 of his 1,028 yards coming after the catch in 2024. His 8.6 YAC/reception would have led the FBS last year and he forced a respectable 14 missed tackles as well.
Interestingly enough, Brown posted a very high average depth of target as well at 11.2. It's clear that Campbell put the ball in his hands in a variety of ways, and he did damage when they did.
Michigan desperately needs a player like this. The two leading Wolverines wide receivers last year, Semaj Morgan and Tyler Morris, combined for just 226 yards after the catch. Their entire receiving corps combined for just 18 missed tackles as well.
No matter who is under center, Michigan needs a player capable of being an "easy button" to whom they can get the ball and create some easily manufactured yards when a play breaks down or they need to convert. The Wolverines were one of the worst early-down offenses in college football last season, and their inability to create played a part in that.
It's too early to assume Brown's interest in Michigan, but this is a player they should "send the house" for.
