It hasn't taken much time at all for Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood to become the face of the Wolverines' program. The $10 million 5-star recruit has been seen all over the place, embracing his role as one of the most important players of a blueblood program. That includes helping recruit star talent.
Devin Fitzgerald, the son of future NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, was at Michigan for a visit this past weekend. Underwood took it upon himself to personally touch base with Fitzgerald.
Devin Fitzgerald, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 185 pounds, is a highly regarded 3-star prospect with numerous top-tier Division 1 offers. Rivals has him graded as a low 4-star recruit, so it's possible the Arizona native will get a bump as his senior season unfolds.
Currently, Arizona is considered by On3 to be the frontrunner for his commitment, but there’s still plenty of time left in the recruiting process. Michigan has just extended an offer, which is encouraging since he was able to visit Ann Arbor so soon after.
Fitzgerald recently visited Clemson and has also checked out Notre Dame and Florida State this year. Dabo Swinney’s Tigers have been extremely successful in recruiting and are among the schools closely linked to Fitzgerald's recruitment, along with UCLA and Pitt, where he has a family legacy.
In his upcoming senior year, he excelled during the 2024 season at Brophy, hauling in 52 receptions for 720 yards and nine touchdowns. He played a crucial role in an offense that propelled the Broncos to a 10-3 record.
