Deion Sanders has never been afraid to say what he feels. His son, Shedeur, is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Recently, some steam has picked up when it comes to the likelihood that the New Orleans Saints could take a quarterback sometime early in this year's draft, and Sanders may be an option. Would Deion be happy if his son landed in New Orleans?
Deion talks Shedeur going to New Orleans
Sanders kicked off his answer by giving one major reason that he could see Shedeur playing for Kellen Moore in New Orleans. Deion likes the Saints' colors.
"I like their colors. I like the city. I like the food. I like the people. I like the possibility."
— Deion Sanders on the possibility of Shedeur getting drafted by the Saints
Of course, Deion made this comment with a confident grin that has set social media ablaze. Does he know more about New Orleans' interest in the Colorado quarterback than most others? That's definitely possible.
Deion also mentioned the colors in a discussion with Field Yates on Sportscenter. There is no doubt that the legendary NFL defender loves black and gold. Maybe – his son will keep dawning that color duo.
Saints taking a QB in round one?
This scenario seems to be gaining steam. There's no doubting that as the beginning of April unfolds.
With the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants posturing as if they'll take best player available, instead of choosing a QB, the Saints may have their choice of Sanders or Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart with the ninth overall pick selection.
That door remains open, and the Saints staff or front office have made no attempts to blame it shut, even after Derek Carr's contract was restructured earlier in the offseason. That move actually made it a bit clearer of a situation if the Saints want to move on from him next offseason, rather than lock themselves in with the veteran QB past 2025.
Regardless, we will see if Sanders is one their radar for round one. If they want him, they'll have to take him early.
Saints make a trade for an unexpected QB prospect in recent 2-round 2025 NFL mock draft to begin next chapter for Kellen Moore
Mock draft mania continues as April unfolds. The end of the month brings the 2025 NFL Draft for the New Orleans Saints and the rest of the league. Field Yates of ESPN recently ran a 2-round mock draft scenario with trades included. New Orleans took an aggressive quarterback swing with a deal on day two. […]
