2025 2 round NFL mock draft: Ashton Jeanty joins the top 5, Shedeur Sanders falls out of the top 10 but lands in a perfect spot

We are less than three weeks away from the 2025 NFL Draft, and things are starting to look clearer at the top of the order.
Now seems like as good a time as any to release a new two-round mock draft of how I think the 2025 NFL Draft could go, including Shedeur Sanders falling out of the top 10 and becoming the third quarterback off the board. Read about my thoughts on that possibility and more below.
2025 2-round NFL Mock Draft
Round 1:

1. Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami
The top pick in the draft seems to be all but written in Sharpie at this point. Miami's Cam Ward has separated himself as the top QB in the class and seems to have impressed the Titans throughout this process. If the Titans could have gotten a lucrative trade package, I still think they likely would have gladly traded down a few spots and gained more capital for the draft future, but that didn't come to fruition. And I think they'd rather be the team to draft Ward than pass on him and see him become great elsewhere.
2. Cleveland Browns: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
It feels like a new favorite for the Browns pick appears every week. First, it was Shedeur Sanders, then it was Abdul Carter, and now Travis Hunter's name is gaining a lot of buzz to be the second overall pick. Hunter being the top wide receiver and corner in the class, has many labeling him a generational prospect. The Browns have already been on record, saying they view his primary position as a wide receiver. The next best thing for a team like the Browns, if they can't land their QB of the future at pick, is adding a true blue chip level prospect to their roster.
3. New York Giants: Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Missing out on Cam Ward and Travis Hunter would be a nightmare for a lot of Giants fans. If the board falls this way, the fan base will be split between those wanting the team to draft Abdul Carter and those wanting the team to select Shedeur Sanders. At this time, I think the Giants would go best player available and pair Carter with Brian Burns on their defensive line.
4. New England Patriots: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
This one might come as a shocker to a lot of people, but the closer we get to the draft, the more I think Ashton Jeanty is a possibility for the Patriots. Mike Vrabel saw greatness up close at RB with Derick Henry during his time with the Titans, so he knows how valuable a dominant running game would be for a young QB like Drake Maye. If Hunter goes in the top three like recent rumors suggest he will, I think Jeanty is going to be one of the top options the Patriots consider at pick four.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
With a brand-new front office and coaching staff in place, it's hard to predict what exactly the Jaguars will prioritize with the fifth pick. I tend to think the team will take the best player available path, and I think that points to Michigan star defensive tackle Mason Graham.
6. Las Vegas Raiders: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
The popular pick in mocks nowadays for the Raiders at pick six is RB Ashton Jeanty. In this mock, though, he is already off the board, so they have to look elsewhere. I considered a few offensive linemen, but I landed on the Raiders adding Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan. Geno Smith had solid success with a big target like DK Metcalf, so Pete Carroll ensures he has one in Las Vegas to begin his time as a Raider.
7. New York Jets: Armand Membou, OT/G, Missouri
For me, this pick came down to either Armand Membou or Tyler Warren. The team signed Justin Fields to be their QB this offseason, and improving the offensive line seems like the best way to get the most out of him. If Armand Membou is on the board for them, I think he ends up being the pick.
TRADE: Panthers send pick 8 to the Dolphins for picks 13, 98 (third), and a 2026 third
8. Miami Dolphins: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Will Campbell falling out of the top seven leads to our first trade of the mock, with the Dolphins stopping the LSU tackle's fall. The Dolphins lost Terron Armstead to retirement and have to replace him quickly with Tua Tagovailoa's health roller coaster being a major detriment to their team over the last few years.
9. New Orleans Saints: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss
Another shocker with Jaxson Dart not only going in the top ten but jumping Shedeur Sanders as QB two. This isn't what I would do if I was the Saints, I would take Sanders. But there are many around the league who believe the Saints are high on Dart, and I am starting to believe he is someone they are seriously considering at pick nine.
10. Chicago Bears: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
A second RB in the top 10, with the Bears pivoting from the dream of landing Jeanty by adding North Carolina's Omarion Hampton. Hampton is a dynamic player that people around the NFL are very high on. There are multiple teams that think Hampton is closer to being on Jeanty's level as a prospect than people on social media seem to believe. Give a play caller like Ben Johnson a RB like Hampton, and watch the magic happen.
11. San Francisco 49ers: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
The 49ers lost multiple talented players this offseason that they will need to replace. One of those is star corner Charvarius Ward, who left the team in free agency, and they have the chance to add one of the most highly anticipated CB prospects in recent memory.
TRADE: Cowboys send pick 12 to the Steelers for picks 21, 83 (third) and a 2026 second
12. Pittsburgh Steelers: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Another trade comes together, and it's a big one with the Steelers making sure they have their future QB on their roster, no matter if Aaron Rodgers ever chooses to sign on the dotted line or not. If Shedeur Sanders does begin to fall like some in the league believe he will, I think the Steelers are a team to watch that could look to get aggressive and land one of the top QBs in the class.
13. Carolina Panthers: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
The Panthers are one of a few teams that have been heavily linked to Alabama star linebacker Jihaad Campbell. His shoulder surgery makes it a bit more complicated, though, but if they can find a reasonable trade-down partner, it could make it easier for them to turn the card in with his name on it.
14. Indianapolis Colts: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
The Colts have one of the worst TE rooms in all of the NFL. So it isn't a surprise that one of the worst-kept secrets around the league is that they are considering taking a TE with their first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. If Warren is on the board I'd be shocked if he isn't there pick.
15. Atlanta Falcons: James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee
It feels like the Falcons have to go defense with this pick, but that's been the thought process for a while now and they find a way to push it off. I don't think that's the end result this time around, though. I think the Falcons will take their top edge rusher on the board here. I considered James Pearce Jr., Mike Green, and Jalon Walker, but I think Pearce would be the best fit.
16. Arizona Cardinals: Kenneth Grant, DT Michigan
The Cardinals need to bolster their defensive line. They added Josh Sweat to improve their edge room in free agency, so I think defensive tackle becomes a top possibility for pick 16. Kenneth Grant was impressive at Michigan and is one of the best run-stoppers in the entire class. He'd be a day-one starter for the Cardinals and could help reshape a defense that desperately needs a makeover.
17. Cincinnati Bengals: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
The Bengals have had a lot of drama with their roster this offseason. But signs point towards this having a happy ending for all involved even Trey Hendrickson, who is still waiting. So, thankfully, they don't have to replace any of their stars and instead are able to target a position of need at DT and add Oregon's Derrick Harmon.
18. Seattle Seahawks: Tyler Booker, G, Alabama
The Seahawks will look very different in 2025 after going through a ton of change this offseason. To help get their new-look offense off to a fast start, improving their offensive line needs to be a top option. Alabama's Tyler Booker is a dominant force at guard and would help both protect Sam Darnold and elevate the Seahawks' run game.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jalon Walker, Edge/LB, Georgia
The Buccaneers had to sit back and watch their divisional rivals, the Panthers, land Jihaad Campbell, a player many believe Tampa Bay is high on. If they miss out on Campbell, though, I think it makes sense that they could pivot to Jalon Walker, who has some upside to be a similar Swiss army knife type of player. And at worst, Walker's ability as a pass rusher would fill a need for the Buccaneers.
20. Denver Broncos: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
Not every team is going to be high on Walter Nolen due to some off-the-field character questions. But if a team meets with him and thinks those questions are exaggerated, he is a special talent and would elevate an already elite Broncos defense to being arguably the best unit in the entire league.
21. Dallas Cowboys: Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State
The Cowboys missing out on the top two RBs in the class led them to make a big trade-down in this mock. But I still think RB would be a position to watch for. Ohio State's Quinshon Judkins is a player who has gained a lot of first-round buzz over the past few weeks. The league is high on this RB class, and the need across the league at the position could very well lead to more hearing their names called in round one than people realize. Judkins would pencil in as the Cowboys' day-one starter and has true three-down bell-cow potential.
22. Los Angeles Chargers: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
There isn't much to say about this fit that hasn't already been said. The Chargers have a clear need for a TE, and Colston Loveland has a strong past relationship with Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh during their time together at Michigan.
23. Green Bay Packers: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
The Packers took some swings at some of the top edge rushers in free agency but weren't able to connect. So, the need remains heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. Mykel Williams has one of the highest ceilings at the position in this class and has a large body frame that fits what the Packers typically covet at the position.
24. Minnesota Vikings: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas
The Vikings improved an already stacked roster in free agency, which gives them the chance to do just about anything in round one. They need to add to their secondary still, and Texas' Jahdae Barron is a unique player who could fill multiple roles in Brian Flores' defense. He is arguably the top nickel CB in the class and also has the potential to play safety at the next level.
25. Houston Texans: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
The Texans' offensive line has taken a step back this offseason after already having a rough season in 2024. It caused CJ Stroud to take a step back from his impressive rookie season, and many are wondering what the team's long-term plans are after a confusing offseason approach. There are multiple talented players that would upgrade the Texans offensive line in this draft class, one of which is Josh Simmons, an Ohio State Buckeye. He can play tackle on either side of the line and would be a day-one starter for the Texans.
26. Los Angeles Rams: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
The Rams decided to bet on themselves and will be entering 2025 trying to compete as opposed to entering a rebuild this offseason. So their pick here needs to reflect that, so I have them improving their offensive line by adding Kelvin Banks Jr., who could start right away but has a lot of room to grow to also be a part of the team's future plans.
27. Baltimore Ravens: Grey Zabel, G/C, North Dakota State
The Ravens' run game is the engine that drives their offense, with Lamar Jackson and Derick Henry both taking turns behind the wheel. Grey Zabel is a unique prospect who has the ability to play at any of the five offensive line positions. This pick would help them improve the strength of their roster and make their run game even more unstoppable.
28. Detroit Lions: Mike Green, Edge, Marshall
After losing Aiden Hutchinson to a season-ending injury, it became clear how big of a need they have at edge going forward. They need to find a proper partner in crime to build their defense around long-term with Hutchinson. Mike Green projects as a dominant pass rusher at the next level, but some off-the-field issues make his draft positioning seem up in the air. If he is available for the Lions, they could create a lethal duo that will cause opposing offense to have nightmares game planning to block them.
29. Washington Commanders: Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M
Back-to-back edge rushers off the board as the Commanders add Shemar Stewart, who some believe is a project due to his lack of sack numbers. But his production data points towards him being an immediate producer in the NFL and that is one of the only glaring holes the Commanders need to find before Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season.
30. Buffalo Bills: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
Malaki Starks' draft stock seems to be on the decline in the past few months. An up-and-down 2024 year has people questioning if the elite production we saw in 2023 was the real him. He also isn't a great athlete, which will cause some teams to pass in round one. His instincts in coverage, though, are truly special, and he would be a massive upgrade to the Bills' disappointing safety room last season.
Trade: Chiefs send pick 31 to the Giants for picks 34, 99 (third) and a 2026 third
31. New York Giants: Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama
Jalen Milroe recently accepted an invitation to attend the 2025 NFL Draft in person. Which means there is some real buzz about him potentially going round one. And the Giants are a team that I could see trying to trade back into the first to land their QB after already landing a blue-chip prospect in Carter earlier.
32. Philadelphia Eagles: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
The Eagles always find a way to snag a player many are shocked to see fall in the draft. Here, they do it again by landing Ohio State star WR Emeka Egbuka. Snagging him to form a trio with AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith would be a scary sight for the rest of the league.
Round 2:

33. Cleveland Browns: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
34. Kansas City Chiefs: Donovan Jackson, G/OT, Ohio State
The Chiefs already had a need at tackle, and their decision to trade away Joe Thuney created another need at guard. Ohio State's Donovan Jackson has the ability to play both spots, which would allow the Chiefs to target the best player available in later rounds to address the offensive line further.
35. Tennessee Titans: Kyle Williams, WR, Washington State
Who doesn't love a reunion? The Titans grab Cam Ward his top WR from his time at Washington State, Kyle Williams. This may seem like a high draft pick for him, but I've consistently been told the NFL is higher on Williams than draft media is. I think he will end up being a second-round pick, and I think the Titans pairing him with Ward makes a lot of sense.
36. Jacksonville Jaguars: Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
37. Las Vegas Raiders: TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
38. New England Patriots: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
39. Chicago Bears: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina
Nick Emmanwori was the star of the scouting combine and began building a case for why he should be a first-round pick. His tape, though, still points towards him being a raw prospect that could need time before becoming a difference-maker. I think Dennis Allen would be a great defensive mind for him to land with, and would use him in unique ways. Which would help him get on the field earlier than some expect.
40. New Orleans Saints: Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss
41. Chicago Bears: Darius Alexander, DT, Toledo
42. New York Jets: Mason Taylor, TE, LSU
Mason Taylor is the clear TE three in this class, in my opinion. His NFL bloodline makes him a very high IQ player on the field, and I've been told he's knocked interviews out of the park throughout the cycle. If the Jets pass on a TE in round one, I think Taylor is someone to watch closely for their second-round pick.
43. San Francisco 49ers: Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College
44. Dallas Cowboys: Jonah Savaiinaea, OT/G, Arizona
45. Indianapolis Colts: Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina
46. Atlanta Falcons: Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA
47. Arizona Cardinals: Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss
48. Miami Dolphins: Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky
49. Cincinnati Bengals: Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame
Notre Dame defensive prospects are going to be looked at as seamless fits for the Bengals with them bringing their defensive coordinator back to the NFL this offseason. The one I'm watching the closest is Xaveir Watts who the staff at Notre Dame trusted to allow him to use his instincts to make plays on the back end at a high rate. He could bring that confidence and his ball skills to Cincinnati and be a day-one starter for a secondary that has to be better in 2025.
50. Seattle Seahawks: Nic Scourton, Edge, Texas A&M
51. Denver Broncos: Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa
The Broncos missed out on the top RBs in round one, but they have to leave this draft with one of the many talented players to improve their very shaky RB room. Iowa's Kaleb Johnson is a player that many around the league view as a three-down back at the pro level. In Denver, I think he would be a day-one starter and would lead the team in carries as a rookie.
52. Seattle Seahawks: Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
53. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Azareye'h Thomas, CB, Florida State
54. Green Bay Packers: Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
Benjamin Morrison, at one point, had a lot of first-round buzz, but his medicals scared some people and have dropped him out of consideration for the first round for a lot of draft media. His talent when healthy is evident, so if the Packers feel good about his hip long-term, he should be a no-brainer for them at pick 54.
55. Los Angeles Chargers: Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State
56. Buffalo Bills: Bradyn Swinson, Edge, LSU
57. Carolina Panthers: Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa State
Jaylin Noel is one of the most underrated WRs in this year's class. He showed off his skills at the Senior Bowl, and if a team is in need of a shifty slot WR he should be one of the top options on their board. The Panthers could pair Noel with Xavier Legette to have a fun young duo for QB Bryce Young, who already had a fantastic career resurgence late last season.
58. Houston Texans: T.J. Sanders, DT, South Carolina
59. Baltimore Ravens: Princely Umanmielen, Edge, Ole Miss
60. Detroit Lions: Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford
61. Washington Commanders: Jaydon Blue, RB, Texas
Jaydon Blue can be an absolute weapon at the NFL level if a team leans into his next-level speed. He can reach his max speed in the blink of an eye and would be a great complement to what the Commanders already have at RB. He would be a solid change of pace from Brian Robinson, and I honestly think he has the upside to become a full-time starter down the road.
62. Buffalo Bills: Chris Paul Jr., LB, Ole Miss
63. Kansas City Chiefs: Wyatt Milum, T, West Virginia
64. Philadelphia Eagles: Tate Ratledge, G, Georgia
