The Las Vegas Raiders obviously have a ton of things they need to address this offseason, and they have a lot of resources to do so. For the group saying that the Raiders head coaching gig and general manager gigs were bad jobs to take this offseason, it couldn't have been a more wrong statement. The Raiders have draft capital, a high draft pick, and a ton of available cap space to use this offseason.

And, they will use it all to try and make this franchise a competitive one again. The goal under this new regime is to by the end of the three years, be a team that wins playoff games. The road to that goal starts in this offseason.

So, this upcoming draft is important, one of the more important ones in recent memory. And they have to address some really important positions. They need a quarterback, of course, we all knew that. They need some interior offensive line help. They need some depth at cornerback, wide receiver, linebacker, defensive tackle, and running back.

But, one of the more polarizing positions that is being talked about outside of the QB position has to be the RB position, and that's largely because of what the room looked like last year, and the group being the worst in the league last year.

And, fans realize that, but they want to take a running back early in the draft, like round two or three. However, they don't have to do that. The Raiders can wait till late in the draft and address the need perfectly.

Raiders can get great RB late in 2025 NFL Draft

This is one of the deepest running back classes we have seen in some time. Some guys can play in the NFL from top to bottom. You have the two best guys that are undoubtedly Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton, and then you have the middle-of-the-pack guys like TreyVeyon Henderson, Quinshon Judkins, and those guys that are still really good.

A lot of the fan base feels like the Raiders need to address the need for an RB in round two or even three. And, that would work, but they don't have to go that route. I'm not opposed to the team doing it that way. The Raiders don't have to do that, though

Because of how deep this class is, the Raiders can wait to address the need in the fourth or fifth round. Or, they can even do it in the sixth, depending on how the draft starts to fall. But in the fourth round, they could even try to get guys like Damien Martinez, Jarquez Hunter, Trevor Etienne, or even Brashard Smith.

And we can't forget that the Raiders have a ton of cap space to use in free agency to potentially bring on an RB as well.

There are so many ways they can address their needs, but taking an RB in the second or third round is not something they have to do.
