The New Orleans Saints are doing their best to recreate a Philadelphia Eagles-type of offense under new HC Kellen Moore – it seems.

There's been a ton of interest from New Orleans in hiring current assistants in Philly. They have grabbed another piece of that staff, according to the latest reports about the Saints' new group of coaches.

Saints add another Eagles coach

According to Nick Underhill, the Saints are hiring Eagles run game assistant T.J. Paganetti to Kellen Moore's staff. Paganetti also assisted with the OL in Philly last season, too.

The experienced assistant spent ten seasons with Philadelphia. Clearly, he had strong ties with the organization, but Moore was able to move him away from the recent Super Bowl champions.

Underhill, a trusted insider for New Orleans, also reported early on Tuesday that Doug Nussmeier is the favorite to be Moore's offensive coordinator for the Saints. There has not been a deal made yet, but things are trending that way.

Nussmeier is a former NFL quarterback and most recently coached QBs for the Eagles. He's been a coach at the college and pro level for over two decades now. He also coached alongside Moore with the Los Angeles Chargers offense in 2023.

Moore will call offensive plays for the Saints, according to the head coach himself.

We will see if New Orleans makes any other hires from the Eagles' group. Regardless, they are consistently targeting those coaches with strong connections to Moore from this past season.
