Up & Adams Show on X

Micah Parsons has been doing his thing in the media thunderstorm that is the week leading up to the Super Bowl. The Dallas Cowboys superstar is not one to shy away from the mic, whether he's talking his own contract situation, hypothetical Myles Garrett trades, or predicting the outcome of Sunday's clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.

During an appearance on the Up & Adams show hosted by Kay Adams, Parsons let out a "Let's go Chiefs!" shout when asked about his thoughts about the game. He then explained why he was rolling with K.C.

"Like I always say, coaching always beats talent," Parsons said. "I'm not saying the Eagles aren't a well coached team, but it just so happens that the Chiefs win, if it's a close game, I think the chiefs will win, they just find a ways to win games, especially in close moments."

Not that I want to make everything about the Cowboys but I can't help thinking the "coaching always beats talent" line by Parsons is one that Dallas should take heed of. Ian Rapoport argued earlier in the week that the Cowboys have the talent to win. There's no denying they've got stars at critical positions and though I'd argue the front office needs to do a better job acquiring talent to improve across the board, coaching also has to do a better job elevating the roster at hand, something that hasn't happened for America's Team in a long time.

That will be a huge challenge for new head coach Brian Schottenheimer going into the 2025 season because the Cowboys' list of needs is longer than many believe.

As far as the Parsons' prediction, he added Patrick Mahomes remains one of the best quarterbacks in crunch time.

"They got the clutchest quarterback in the league, not in history, not yet," Parsons added. "I want to see the three-peat, I think that's pretty legendary. You don't get to see the all the time, I missed Michael Jordan."

My prediction for Super Bowl LIX

The A to Z Sports' staff put together its Super Bowl predictions in a recent article, with over 80% of our writers picking the Chiefs for similar reasons to the ones laid out by Parsons. Can't blame him but I fear we might've jinxed the three-peat here. Here's my preview from earlier in the week, which emphasizes the coaching Parsons refers to.

Chiefs 30, Eagles 29

During the conference championships, Andy Reid had the perfect play call on third down to clear the way for RB Samaje Perine, who iced the game with the easiest yards after the catch of his career. Earlier, Steve Spagnuolo won the chess match against the Bills' Josh Allen with a perfect blitz call. At the beginning of the game, Reid also called the perfect "first 15" plays to open the game with the touchdown. It's what the Chiefs do. Timely play-calling. Can't beat that in the biggest stage. The Eagles are great and probably the better team. But there's a reason why Kansas City has a shot at the three-peat. They're better in these spots.
