The Tennessee Volunteers made it to the top of the college baseball mountaintop back in June, claiming the school's first-ever national championship in their seventh trip to the College World Series.

After knocking off Florida State in a tournament classic 12-11, the Vols defeated UNC and FSU again handily to reach the championship series.  After dropping game one, Tennessee rallied over the next two days to take the series and the title with late heroics in games 2 and 3.

Naturally, to the victor go the spoils, and the rewards of their triumph can now be seen by fans, as the Vols' championship rings have been revealed.

The national championship ring has a particularly nice touch, as it has the national championship trophy with a larger diamond at the top, which would seem to represent the school's first title.  It also has the word "Vols" in the style seen on one version of the team's uniform.

Tennessee claimed their second SEC regular season and tournament titles in the last three seasons as well, and they had to dig out of a hole to do it.  After dropping their tournament opener to Vanderbilt as the 1 seed 13-4, Tennessee rallied from there, out of the loser's bracket winning 4 games in 4 days. Tennessee knocked off Texas A&M (a familiar future theme) before taking out Mississippi State and Vandy to reach the championship game.  Tennessee hung on 4-3 to top LSU to win the tournament title.

We'll see soon enough if Tony Vitello and the Big Orange can earn some more jewelry this year, as the Vols' run to defend their title begins on Friday against Hofstra.
