Former Tennessee Vols guard Dalton Knecht is expected to return to the court for the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz after a week that can best be described as bizarre.

Knecht was traded to the Charlotte Hornets late last week in a deal that sent center Mark Williams to the Lakers. The trade, however, was rescinded due to some concerns the Lakers had about Williams' health.

The former Vol was on the Lakers' bench on Monday night, but he didn't dress out due to the whirlwind of events he had gone through over the course of the weekend.

After the Lakers' win against the Jazz on Monday night, Los Angeles guard Austin Reaves was asked about Knecht's return to the team.

“It’s been good," said Reaves of Knecht's return to the Lakers. "This morning was the first time I think we’ve seen him as a group. I’m sure it’s a roller coaster of events for him and everybody that’s been involved in that situation. But we’re super excited to have him back. Have Cam [Reddish] back, and that’s really it. At the end of the day, this business is a business, and sometimes things happen that we don’t love. But like I said, it’s a business, and we’re very excited to have him and Cam back.”

There's no doubt it's been a strange week for Knecht. But now it's time for him to put the weird events of the last week behind him and just focus on being the best player he can be for the Lakers.

And let's be honest — who wouldn't prefer playing with LeBron James and Luka Doncic over playing for a middling franchise like the Hornets?

It's not all bad, Dalton.
