A.J. Brown returned to his old stomping grounds of Ole Miss over the weekend, where he delivered a powerful speech to the Rebels' 2025 spring graduating class.

“Now here’s the real game,” Brown said. “You are your own operation. Your discipline is your product. Your name is your brand. Your habits are your investments. Nobody’s coming to build it for you, and nobody’s coming to rescue you when it gets hard. Success isn’t owned, it’s rented. And rent is due every single day.”

Brown played three seasons at Ole Miss from 2016 to 2018, finishing his collegiate career as the school's all-time leading receiver with 189 receptions for 2,984 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was then selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Brown spent his first three seasons with the Titans before being traded to Philly ahead of the 2022 season. While he initially felt disappointment, Brown said he "trusted God’s timing" and how the move ultimately worked out in his favor, considering he went on to break numerous records and became a Super Bowl LIX champion.

Brown encouraged the students to adopt a similar perspective when facing life’s unexpected changes post-graduation.

“You’re stepping into a new season,” Brown said. “You’re holding the ball. Ole Miss gave you the playbook. Now it’s your job to call the plays and lead the drive.”

Brown concluded his speech reminding the graduates to once again trust the process and dream big.

“Dream big,” Brown said. “Bigger than what feels safe. Bigger than what feels comfortable. Because with God, with faith and with consistent hard work, there’s no limit to what you can build. Above all, bet on yourself. Trust the work and trust the one who gave you the gift. Class of 2025, give yourself a round of applause. You’ve earned it.”
