Now that the 2025 NFL Draft is over, teams will be taking a look at the best remaining free agents and evaluating if any of them will fit with their roster.

The Baltimore Ravens have bolstered their defensive secondary by acquiring cornerback Chidobe Awuzie in free agency and safety Malaki Starks with their first-round draft pick.

After ranking 31st in the league against the pass in 2024, are those two moves enough for a significant improvement? While identifying the best landing spots for some of the NFL's top remaining free agents, A to Z Sports' Wendell Ferreira believes that Ravens would benefit by signing free agent safety Julian Blackmon.

"With Kyle Hamilton slated to play nickel corner, the Ravens need answers at safety. One of them is their first-round pick Malaki Starks, and the other projected starter right now is Ar'Darius Washington, who had a solid coverage season in 2024, but is not a long-term fix after re-signing on a one-year contract. Julian Blackmon is still young at 26 and offers a good combination of high floor and low cost that the Ravens love. At this point of the offseason, signing Blackmon wouldn't count towards the compensatory pick formula, which is particularly relevant for Baltimore." – Wendell Ferreira

Even if Blackmon didn't start over Washington, he would provide quality depth and help solidify Baltimore's biggest weakness from a year ago. It is surprising to see Blackmon still unsigned, as he is coming off the best two seasons of his career in 2023 and 2024.

Throughout his five-year tenure with the Indianapolis Colts, Blackmon has recorded 300 total tackles, 21 passes defensed, 10 interceptions, four forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks. Seven of his 10 INTs have come over the last two years, as have 174 of his tackles.
