Pete Carroll, the former USC Trojans head coach and Seattle Seahawks head coach, is now the head coach with the Las Vegas Raiders, a franchise that has a ton of ties to the USC football program. In fact, Pete Carroll is set to continue teaching his class there at the university.

Then you factor in the amount of USC players that have played for the Raiders over the years, and even the guys that are on the roster right now like Isaiah Pola-Mao, and the ties are still just as strong. But it doesn't stop there.

The Raiders have a few USC players on their rookie mini-camp invites and even some UDFAs that they have signed. Defensive backs Greedy Vance and John Humphrey played at USC last season and are joining the Raiders as UDFAs, being given a chance at a roster spot for the 2025 season.

And now you can add Kyle Ford to the list, who was just invited to rookie minicamp.

Kyle Ford was a wide receiver for the USC Trojans and had a notable six-year college football career. Originally from Corona, California, Ford was a five-star recruit from Orange Lutheran High School.

Ford joined USC in 2019 but faced challenges with injuries and limited playing time in a competitive receiver group. After a stint at UCLA, he returned to USC. In five seasons, Ford accumulated 88 receptions for 1,190 yards and nine touchdowns. Ford didn't play in 2020 due to the COVID season but played enough football in the other five seasons to have some pretty good experience entering rookie minicamp.

Ford is 6'2", 225 pounds, and could serve as a weapon on the practice squad if all goes well. He has some tools that Pete Carroll and the Raiders coaching staff likely love.

Even though the Raiders are in Las Vegas, and were in Oakland before that, it still feels like they have more ties to USC than both the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams.
