Not much has happened yet in terms of the 2026 revruiyting class. Most teams only have a few guys committed here and there, and even those guys may flip, especially with today's college football world. The Oklahoma Sooners have a commit who could do just that.

When you look at the Sooners' 2026 recruiting class, they only have four players committed: one quarterback, one tight end, one interior offensive lineman, and one wide receiver. They still have a lot of work to do for their 2026 class, but it's still very early. Not to mention, they may lose one very soon.

Their first 2026 commit, QB Jaden O'Neal, could flip.

Sooners' 2026 QB Jaden O'Neal threat to flip

Jaden O’Neal, a four-star quarterback, is a big threat to flip to another four-star school. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound prospect from California recently moved to Mustang High School in Oklahoma, closer to his future college in Norman, but that could end up meaning nothing at all.

Ranked as the No. 11 quarterback and No. 137 overall prospect by 247Sports Composite, O’Neal chose Oklahoma over offers from Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, and Washington. Known for his strong arm and pinpoint accuracy, especially on deep throws, he’s a pro-style quarterback with big potential.

Now, he's being predicted to flip to an ACC school.

"He continues to have dialogue with the Sooners staff, and obviously has a lot of love for the school, the program, and Brent Venables. But, with them recruiting Bowe Bentley, O'Neal is like, well, maybe I should see what's out there. And, there are some other schools that love him. Georgia was one of them, where I thought that they were the biggest threat to Oklahoma. Now you have Florida State and Auburn. And I guess if I were hedging, I would lean toward FSU now as the biggest threat to flip Jaden O'Neal from Oklahoma. And if I were playing out the dominoes, and nothing is certain, but my guess today would be that Bowe Bentley is a Sooner and Jaden O'Neal is a Nole." – Steve Wiltfong, On3

The Sooners need to make sure they have a backup plan in place, and it sounds like they do. The Sooners love what they see from Bentley, maybe even more than what they see from O'Neal. Only time will tell what happens.
